YesAsia Editorial Description
Young love is in the air in My Little Bride! Popular heartthrob Kim Rae Won (Rooftop Room Cat) is right at home in this hit romantic comedy about a curious arranged marriage. Kim is Sang Min, a handsome college student who aspires to be a legendary playboy. However, his swinging single ways are about to end thanks to the arrival of 16-year-old Bo Eun (Moon Geun Young, A Tale of Two Sisters). Bo Eun's grandfather was best friends with Sang Min's grandfather, whose dying wish was to see Sang Min and Bo Eun married!
Neither of the youngsters have any interest in getting hitched; Sang Min won't be able to attract college girls with a ring on his finger, and Bo Eun is in love with a local high school hunk. But Bo Eun's grandfather is determined to get the two together, even if he has to resort to some wily deception! His tricky ways get the two to the altar, but how will they adjust to a married life neither wants? A romantic comedy full of sweet, fun-loving innocence, My Little Bride promises to charm and entertain anyone with a heart!

My Little Bride is a lot of FUN
| This movie is a real pleasure. Moon Geun Young is hilarious. Who knew after seeing Tale of Two Sisters that she could be so funny?? It's a little corny at times but I think that's to be expected in a romantic comedy. Kim Rae Won is very funny and sweet in this. Kim Rae Won's sidekicks in the film add some good laughs as well. I have watched several times and it's always enjoyable. |

My Little Bride, Then I saw who acted in it… none other than Kim Rae Won… well I was in such a state of shock that I pulled down the shelf in my attempt to get it… so I lied, but that didn’t stop me from getting it at my local library… I cannot wait for me to get into some money then I’ll get it!!! His performance, magnificent as always… cannot wait to see him and his quirky attitude in “The Grand Chef”… people, do watch this, it is fun… CHEERS! |

really cute movie
| I really enjoyed this movie. It's a cute story and believable characters. It's a clean movie that I recommend to any who wish to see a comedy romantic movie. The only thing I recommend is that you splurge on the more expensive version. This one has a little bit of an echo with the Korean and chinese languages both being able to be heard at the same time. I don't speak either one so it didn't bother me to much. I just read the English subtitles and enjoyed the movie. It is a really cute story. |

Moon Geun Young, the wide-eyed young actress who plays the child bride in this terrific film, described "My Little Bride" as funny and heartwarming. I agree! The premise of the film seems outlandish, but the execution of the story is so flawless that the viewer becomes thoroughly charmed. This success is due in large part to the superb cast. Not only do the two leads, Kim Rae Won and Moon Geun Young, convincingly inhabit their roles, but the entire cast, from the parents to the friends (and enemies) to the spinster teacher all shine in this comic gem. Credit also must go to the scriptwriters who created a story that flows naturally from its crazy premise. Miss Moon is permitted to act like a high school girl really would act and Mr. Kim behaves as a young man actually would. This movie is a delight from start to finish and I wholeheartedly recommend it for the entire family. |

Setting off on the premise that a 15-year old IS allowed to get married so long as the parents consent, I now therefore proceed with my review of My Little Bride, and put all talks of legality to rest. The movie is basically about the love, or hate, story between a 15-year old high school girl who's forced to marry her childhood friend six years her senior to fulfill her sick grandpa's wishes. The fun starts here, both for the actors and the viewers. One gets the feeling that the characters are merely playing house. And that feeling is fuelled by the fact that the actors show a natural closeness. Either that, or they're just really good actors, being able to perfectly deliver just the right amount of fun and closeness on screen. Less we forget that the movie belongs to the romcom genre, the romance aspect of the story was not at all underplayed. There were hints of attraction between the characters, which were piled up just right to give an effective heart-tickling ending. The simplicity of the movie's conflict is its biggest advantage. What do you do with a 15-year old bride who, well, thinks and acts like a 15-year old? None of those heart-wrenching dramas (thank goodness) which would probably destroy the whole movie; instead, the movie presents a reasonable and realistic conflict that will give you an 'aww, shucks' feeling in the end. I think it would have been better if the movie was a narrative, made in such a way as to show the husband's point of view - kind of giving justice to the title MY Little Bride. But narration or no narration, the movie delivered. 8 kimchi dishes out of 10. |
