This Special Collectible Edition comes with four postcards and a DVD containing five music videos and making of footage.
Taiwan's Queen of Cute Rainie Yang is back in full force with her drama Why Why Love and her highly anticipated new album My Other Self. Rainie broke out as a solo artist in 2005 with the hit song "My Intuition", the end theme to popular drama Devil Beside You. This year, she teams up again with co-stars Mike He and Kingone Wang for Why Why Love, and the first plug of My Other Self is the drama's end theme, "Short of Breath". This soft and sweet ballad talks about feeling short of breath when thinking of that special someone. Fans have been waiting over a year for Rainie's new album, and the young diva does not disappoint as both the drama and its theme are big hits already.
Rainie, who made her start in the dance pop group 4 in Love, will also be putting on her dancing shoes again after seven years. She takes on the latest Japanese street dancing moves for title track "Free Gate". This fun dance number is about the desire for a "free gate" through which one can escape the pressures and boredom of daily life. Rainie also especially cut her hair to present a new and refreshing image for this album.

This album has got to be Rainie's BEST album to date (based on 4 albums so far). Though her latest attempt at more mature songs do have a refreshing sensation, it is this album that brings out her unique vocal to all the songs in this album ! Do get it, it's really worth it as I've been listening for 6 months now & never get sick of it !!! ALL THE SONGS REALLY STAND THE TEST OF TIME !!! Especially the ballads 缺氧, 倔強, 第二個自己 & 完美比例 are haunting tracks !!! A PERFECT 10 !!! |

| really cute. its lite, poppy and sweet, with some surprisingly solid numbers. not necessarily anything to go psycho over, but its pretty darn enjoyable. and rainie's singing isn't half bad either. she's very consistent and sounds strong and confident from beginning to end. i usually find chinese pop to be dry, but this album is so sweet and quite fun! |

I now see what an earlier review meant when they said Rainie can't sing. =( I was very disappointed when I watched the Free Gate concert! She didn't sound anything like the songs I heard. If a singer doesn't sound good live then they cannot sing. She sounded very off-key; it was so bad. v_v I was upset because I was wanting to find another artist to like! Her popularity actually does come from her cute act. It's just amazing that she's so popular!!!!!!!!! =/ Alot of fans may kill me for this, but it's true. =( A singer is a SINGer - they should be noticed for their singing, not their image. I understand that looks and a cute image matter these days, but it really shouldn't, u know! Take Fish Leong for instance! She's not the most beautiful girl, but her voice is sooo lovely. Same goes for Faye Wong!! n_n That's what they're known for and that's what I like. Rainie deserves none of the credit I mentioned previously. v_v I am sorry... |

I became interested after hearing people say she couldn't sing, so I tried this! First of all, she has a GORGEOUS *_* tone and I really don't see how people insult her vocals. Sure, it's not the strongest and may sometimes go off-key..but it's still VERY good and she shows so much potential. Kudos to her!!!!!! =D She's a nice girl, but I think people also overrate her. =/ I don't actually think Rainie herself is that cute like people (and the media) make her out to be..but she is pretty. I like the meaning in her songs though - they're sweet. I would actually like her more, but I'm already a fan of Jolin and Rainie's image reminds me of Jolin's in the "Magic" and "Castle" albums...instead, Rainie stays like that instead of progressing and growing up. She's very kiddish, but it's OK because that's just her style...I just grow tired of it when it's overdone. A matter of preference! n_n'' Anyway! What I'm rattling on about is that she's good, but doesn't really match up to comparison of Jolin Tsai or other top Mandarin artists TO ME, but I'm sure true fans will favor her over anyone! =) I also wanted to clear up that SHE CAN SING. =/ ?? I still don't understand why people say that she can't!!! her tone really is so pretty - range isn't everything! *scratches head* =S ???!! hmmm.... O.o ?? |

rainie cannot sing. she's even worse when singing live. off pitch a lot. her fame comes from acting cute. unless you are tone deaf or you're a blinded ( and deaf) teen groupie who looks up to her as some teen idol, avoid this cd at all cost. really, someone shld stop her from singing. |
