already one of my favs! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
i got this dvd two weeks ago and i have already watched it 3 times! one time alone, with my mom, and one time with my friends. this was their first asian move (mine also) and they LOVED it!!!

i already heard so many good things about this movie so when i saw it on sale i thought: heck! ill just buy it :p so when it came, i put it in my dvd-player and from the first moments i was hooked!
the storyline is really original, and what i love the most is that its a true story! really, mirrorcles DO happen!

the movie has like everything: its SUPER funny! its cute, and it even has a crying scene (which i think every korean movie has :p)
so its kinda a movie that you MUST have seen once in your life! and if you wanna watch it more than once (which i think you will) be my guest :p

anyhowwwww: BUY THIS MOVIE!!! YOUR GONNA LOVE IT and if you wont, then.... your weird :p (just kidding .____.)

The best movie. Ever. Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I know, I know...it's a five year-old movie but you have to admit that it still has the appeal it had five years ago. So let's talk about this movie that started all that 'Wanna die?' craze.

Adopted from the real-life experience of a guy narrated over the Internet, this movie is about his peculiar relationship with a pretty girl who lost her boyfriend and can't seem to move on. Gyun-woo senses the girl's sadness despite her attempt at sassiness, and being the nice guy that he is, he stays by the girl's side, doing whatever she fancies letting him do, making her happy and in effect, healing her sorrow. He knows it's a temporary thing, their relationship. But as time passes, the relationship gets deeper and it's becoming quite difficult for Gyun-woo to let go.

The girl is grateful for Gyun-woo's company. But she is likewise in an emotional quandary. She knows it's unfair to take advantage of Gyun-woo's good nature, but she needs him to heal. Just when she begins enjoying Gyun-woo's companionship and is slowly letting go of her dead boyfriend's memory, she feels guilt towards Gyun-woo and her dead boyfriend. What's her solution? She asks Gyun-woo to write her a letter, expressing what he really feels for her. This letter, together with her own for Gyun-woo, are placed in a container she calls a time capsule, which both will open two years later. This girl has a fixation for time capsules. I guess when you're hurting from a broken heart, you have your own methods for coping - others go on a shopping or eating binge; she, on time capsules.

Anyway, two years later. Gyun-woo shows up at their rendezvous point, she doesn't. Does this mean she's hurting still? Or worse, has she completely moved on and in the process has forgotten Gyun-woo too?

Everything about this movie is insanely wonderful that it remains on top of my all-time favorite Korean movies since I watched it five years ago. It has a topnotch story making it difficult to believe that it's an Internet adaptation. It works either way: a light drama with a touch of comedy, or a light comedy with a touch of drama. What really fascinates me is the peculiar relationship between Gyun-woo and the girl (the movie never mentioned her name) and the manner it was presented resulting in the romance aspect of the movie being subtle. Very nicely done. The narration is witty, funny and downright entertaining that nowhere in the duration of the movie would you feel bored.

Two thumbs up to the lead actors; if I had more thumbs, I would have gone right ahead and raised them all as well. Special mention to Cha Tae-hyeon. Although not your typical handsome guy, he was so lovable in this movie, naturally funny and quite amusing. No other actor would have been capable of playing Gyun-woo the way he did. It felt like the role was tailor-made for him.

From the Internet to the big screen, this movie went on to become a Korean phenomenon, overshadowing movies of the same genre. It set the trend for Korean romcom drama, and while there may have been movies with similar themes which have done well artistically and commercially, this movie is in a class of its own.

10 kimchi dishes out of 10.

THE BEST Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I really really love this movie. It is soo hilarious. it sent me and my brother flying out of seats till our stomachs hurt. It was also really sweet and has a little surprise at the ending. it's much different than your typical romantic korean drama. it made me laughing one minute and then crying the next. this is a really good movie. it's the best.

Loved It Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I loved this movie, so much better than Windstruck. The ending was unpredictable, well for me. And the chemistry was amazing. It definately made me cry more than a few times. This movie made me laugh, and made me cry. I definately not regret watching or buying it. But it's really too bad that Windstruck, said to be its Prequel, was just.. not good at all. To conclude, this movie was a pleasure to watch and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good movie.

good comedy Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
You will get quite a few good laughs out of this movie. The action of the female lead seems a bit weird at first but in the end we understand why she behaved the way she was. Korean men are sweet. If they love someone, they try so hard to please them. Again the Korean way of love shone through. Once they've fallen in love (boys and girls), they found it so very difficult to stop.. Near the end, it was touching. Well done.

GREAT love story! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I saw this at the Philadelphia Movie Festival about 5 years ago, and the crowd gave it a standing ovation when it ended. I just watched my brothers' copy last week with my GF, and we both laughed a lot, and cried some, too. It was even better than I remembered.

Oh, and incredible actors! Every look tells you all you need to know (especially at the end), but it's not because it's a broad comedy, so much as it is loud. (Does that make sense?)

The characters are not totally convincing, but it really is simply a classic screwball comedy, so you live with it.

I think it's kinda cool how it switches from pathos to comedy at the drop of a hat-- it really keeps your attention. There were several "inside jokes" mocking other classic films, and if you haven't seen them, well, the scenes are STILL funny. And there are many, many memorable parts in the film, just like in a real relationship. Anyone who is a self-professed "hopeless romatic", and wears that title without shame, will love this movie.

Not my favorite movie (that would be Umbrellas of Cherbourg), but similar, and certainly Top Ten ever. And worth $20, any day. Like today-- I just picked up my own copy...

Overrated Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
Overrated. After reading all the reviews for this movie I was overcome with a big temptation to get this movie. After I watched it and all I gave it away to the waitress at the Korean restaurant I go to. With that said. The movie has twists and turns. It seems like it does not know what direction it is going in and does not know what genre it wants to be. Probably the director wanted to do all genres in one movie and failed miserably. This movie wants to be romantic, funny, action, scary, etc. Cha Tae Hyun IS funny in the beginning and got weird in the middle and got serious at the end. The beginning and the end were good those parts made sense. The middle was weird and dreamlike and nightmarishlike with all the strange action.

Too good Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Single greatest movie ever. It was laughters and tear jerkers. The character Jeon depicted helped draw out the dream girl of my teens out there. She was just so funky. Where can you find a great movie such as this, in which the whole stoyline seems so fitting. Just wondering if it will reach world wide regcongnition. The U.S has purchased the right for a remake but come on, can you really imagine anyone out doing Jeon? This movie is a collectors item and one that is not just for a one time watch...
