Every summer NTV holds the telethon charity event 24 Hour Television Special, bringing together artists, comedians, and idols together for a 24-hour marathon show that includes many special performances, variety challenges, and a touching special mini-drama. For the 2008 edition of 24 Hour Television, Johnny's group Arashi served as the main personalities/hosts, and member Matsumoto Jun starred in the special drama Myu no Anyo Papa ni Ageru with Karina. Based on a true story, Myu no Anyo Papa ni Ageru is about a 25-year-old man diagnosed with CIDP, a rare incurable disease of the nervous system. Slowly losing the ability to use his limbs, he bravely fights the illness with the support of his wife and daughter.
