Excellent! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is Tomo-chan's 10th Anniversary album, celebrating 10 wonderful years in the music business. This album, contrast to other "club banging" albums that lack serious feeling, is a calm ballad album, with only 2 upbeat songs, Suki wa Sekai Nagai Kotoba and SUMMER VACATION. The rest of the songs are soothing ballads ranging from the mysterious sounding Ai No Uta to the slow-dance type Tatta Hitotsu No Yakusoku. And as an added bonus, the DVD features the 2 PVs of Anata Ga Ireba followed by Namida No Tsuzuki and then a gorgeous acoustic preformance of I'm Proud that hasn't before been released on a CD followed by CMs of Anata Ga Ireba and Namida no Tsuzuki and then a special making of and an interview with the "visual dance queen". This is literally Tomo's best. It will be hard to top, but certainly not impossible for this legend.

This was not the CD I was expecting. Of course, I don't really know WHAT I WAS expecting since I had never heard this artist! But, I am disappointed. I bought it to try something new, but this is just way not my style. The biggest problem for me is her voice. While it's nice as she's actively singing, it gets vibrato when she holds a note (think "opera singer"). Anyway, I don't like wobbly and unstable vocals, so that pretty much killed any liking of this CD I MIGHT have fostered after playing it a few times. The first time I played it: I hated it. Now, I just don't like it. I don't think it will grow on me at all either. The songs aren't quality songs and they are pretty much all over the place in terms of style. Track 1 is almost dance, Track 2 is almost R&B , and Track 3 is just plain boring. I won't run through all the tracks, because they don't get any better. Anyone else who is looking to experiment with Japanese music selections should avoid this. Only her fans would enjoy the CD at all, I think...you'd have to just like what she does and I don't and I doubt the majority of listeners would either. Try someone fun like Kokia, Sayaka, Aiko, Kotoko, or Ichikawa Yui if you wish to experiment into Japanese pop. For much better Japanese R&B there is Ramja, Lyrico or even Miki Imai. I can't offer any recommendations on dance experimentation because I don't listen to dance AT ALL. Oh, back to this disk: I give it a 2 of 10 because she does have a mature, solid voice for the most part and I think she tried and just missed the mark big time. To me, she just doesn't "have it".
