There're too many songs to perform, even for Namie Amuro. I'd prefer a concert recorded in Japan instead of Taipei. The huge stage for this concert didn't do much except the catwalk extension. It's like a carnival compared to her earlier concerts in Japan. A couple of songs into the show and I felt dizzy; it must be the ever-switching camera angle. I felt like watching a film with quick editing. Hello had a great choreography with the use of phone as prop; wink-wink was the way to go for Namie. IMHO the best song of Queen-of-Hip-Pop album is No. She finally gave a hi-energy performance that's better than Space-of-HipPop. It's obvious Wild was too wild-n-fast-paced for live singing. It needed to be rearranged for live performance. Black Diamond was the best part of the show; the choreography made it even better to see on stage than on MV. When WoWa began I almost expected Pink Panther to emerge, but realized he couldn't make it to Taipei. So I was thinking about Pink Panther while watching Namie singing WowoWawa. Overall this concert is alright because it has some well-choreographed songs, but it is not that well organized like PLAY-tour or LiveStyle-tour. Best-Fiction-concert as recorded in Taipei is not as enjoyable as her ealier concert-DVDs after many viewings. |

Energy. Energy. Energy. This girl has got some serious ENERGY! This is the BEST Namie Amuro Concert to date! Excellent stage production, lighting, and vocals. The BEST FICTION tour really is like a book into the world of Namie, the QUEEN of Hip-Hop and dance. 30 songs were performed with the shortest breaks I've ever seen. I wonder how she changed clothes so fast?! Not to mention her strong vocals throughout the ENTIRE concert. The intro to the concert happened with a bang that keeps you enticed the entire time. You want to avert your eyes for even a second. Fans have a chance to finally hear 'Dr.', 'WILD', 'Do Me More' and 'Sexy Girl' live. The performances were creative and hype. Also, her solo performance of Black Diamond was perfect, though I wish Double could have been there. ^_^ If I were to choose her most passionate performance, I'd have to say that it was during 'Shine more'. For some reason, I think Namie has an attachment to this track and I loved her improv and strength she put into the vocals. I highly recommend this concert for Namie Amuro fans and for new fans looking for a concert to try out. This concert is a lovely history of her past tracks and her current ones. Namie just keeps the ball rolling song after song, no stopping. She truly proves her strength in this concert and though she has turned 32 this year, she is proof that age is just a number. Her strength and endurance is amazing and she truely deserves a round of applause with this production. Amazing job Namie Amuro. Well done. |

Small technical corrections
|
Having watched this entire blu-ray disc there are some issues which need to be corrected concerning earlier reviews. First is the issue concerning image resolution: blu-ray supports a "maximum" resolution of 1080i60 (or exactly i59.94) which was used here, there is no 1080p60 resolution in blu-ray specification. 1080p24 is definitely a possibility but they might have wanted to use 1080i60 because it produces higher frame rate (suitable for fast motion). Second is the issue of "blurring": actually this is not a technical problem but a an issue of camera work. I have a feeling that they wanted to have a "music video" like feeling which is the reason why camera angles/views change quickly. As far as blurring goes I found the image to be very crisp, it was a fun (and almost a scary) experience to see Namie sweat during close-ups, a real evidence of the high level detail which blu-ray produces. Generally I found the live concert blu-ray to be quite enjoyful but I found that I actually liked the 2 channel soundtrack to be "more together" than the 5.1 soundtrack which (for me) sounded a bit muddy or unclear. As far the performance generally there is a good amount of songs to enjoy here and the stage works was really something to admire. Namie is definitely a world class star and her concerts are also world class events. |

Major disappointment for Blu-ray
Major disappointment for Blu-ray

I came in with high expectations for this Blu-ray disc. Unfortunately, it is encoded in 1080i, not 1080p. The good news is the audio is 5.1 uncompressed. The bad news is the video quality. Darks are not as deep as they should be, but worst of all, the crew that shot the concert keeps blurring shots to fade in and out every few seconds. One moment Namie is in focus and another second, she's not. This goes on for the duration of the concert and it is very annoying. Why bother with a Blu-ray release if we are not going to get clear sharp pictures of the concert? I'm sure this looks a lot better than the normal DVD release, but really with all the new Blu-rays coming out, I expected a lot better from Avex Trax. Final judgment: Picture quality: 3/5 Sound Quality 3.5/5 |

How do I know this? Cause I was actually there in 2nd row!! The visual effects, stage props(i loved the giant shoe during New Look :P), vocals etc we're all just great, and she kept myself and the rest of the crowd moving constantly right til the end. And so as a little memorable thing, I'm buying this. It's the first blu-ray released by Avex (that I know of anyways), and with the super hi-def picture and sound it's so worth every last penny. I'm gonna enjoy reliving this awesome experience over and over. It was as I said before a great tour. Also, the tracklist was just great too. I can't believe she actually performed that many songs. She even seemed to showcase more energy than in many of her past concerts. It's quite a treat for the eyes and ears. Definitely and Highly Reccomend! |
