  • December 21, 2006 SATOMI' is here 2 stay!!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
"Yesterday" is definetly one of my favorite song's to date. SATOMI's voice is just gorgeous and flows very nicely with the laid back R&B feel of the track. I could see a lot of people humming this song in their sleep.
"Love to Stay" is actually the english version of "Yesterday" and even though it isn't as impressive as the japanese version it also has its highlights. The english lyrics match the song nicely and once again SATOMI's voice steals the show.
"Mystery" is the second japanese song on the album and is also another R&B track like "Yesterday". It gives the album alittle boost with its upbeat chorus but still maintains the single's mellow vibe.
"Oh ft. Doc Brown ~J.A.B. remix~" is actually SATOMI's upcoming 2nd UK single but I guess she decided to give her japanese fans alittle preview with this remix version. "Oh" gives the single a refreshing hip-hop edge. The song is actually pretty catchy and a nice way to end the single.
SATOMI's debut album "Diamondlily" will be in stores February 7, 2007.

January 30, 2006 DOUBLE ROCKS THE PARTY Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Nearly a year after the jazz concept album "Life is Beautiful" DOUBLE (Takako) returns with a new song and a new image. For those of you not familiar with DOUBLE, DOUBLE was originally a sister duo made up of Takako and Sachiko. Sadly on May 21, 1999 two weeks before their debut album "Crystal" was released Sachiko passed away from a brain hemorrhage. Since then Takako has continued as a solo artist using the name DOUBLE in memory of her sister.

ROCK THE PARTY is pretty different from DOUBLE's pass releases just because of the fact it incorporates a latin/raggae beat into the song which gives it a summer type vibe. The song starts out with BOY-KEN introducing the song than Takako immediately coming in with her soulful vocals. Only 30 seconds in the chorus hits you with Takako's singing becoming more urgent and the instruments speeding up. The chorus overall is the best part of the song and it is entirely in english. I really enjoyed this song but it was way too long clocking in at 5:32 they could have taken at least two minutes and it would of not hurt the song at all.

The Love on Fire is the c/w track and to be honest it is almost on par with the a-side track. Like before this song continues the latin vibe and opens with a girl whispering in spanish. The chorus is very infectious with the "ah's" in the background and the guitar. Again Takako's vocals are great and fit in very well with the feel of the song. I could easily see this be on the next album.

ROCK THE PARTY -STUDIO APARTMENT REMIX- is a pretty good remix. It slows the track down giving it more of a R&B flavor but keeps the latin theme going with some maracas and congo drums. It also adds a bit of a techno feel here and there. This is a remix worth listening to.

ROCK THE PARTY -Radio Mix- shorten the song about a minute but basically the same song. I would of rather had an instrumental track than this.

    Nanako's Rating - 8/10

Well hopefully this review was helpful to all you guys. DOUBLE's next single "Call Me" is set to be released on March 1st.
