Based on Nishimura Jun's autobiographies, Antarctic Chef relays the hearty meals and adventures of a research team stationed near the South Pole. Sakai Masato (The Triumphant General Rouge) plays a Tokyo cook who leaves his family and warm life behind to join an expedition in Dome Fuji Station. Despite living in the freezing cold in the middle of nowhere, he manages to concoct luxurious meals for the team of eight researchers for whom mealtime soon becomes the greatest joy. Directed by Okita Shuichi (Ryoichi & Kiyoshi), Antarctic Chef co-stars actress Nishida Naomi and character actors Namase Katsuhisa, Kitaro, Kora Kengo, and Toyohara Kosuke.
