CASKER - Skylab
April 26, 2007 Excellent easy listeningIf you like Clazziquai, Roller Coaster and Humming Urban Stereo, then this album is for you. Casker is an under-rated artist. Lee Young Jin's vocals are absolutely soothing (she was recently featured in Epik High's new release 'Love Love Love'). Casker's brand of music is a mixture of lounge/bossa nova/electronica/chill out/jazz. It is music that one can relax and chill to whether late at night or on lazy afternoons. I love every song on the album, most are mellow with haunting grooves or pleasantly breezy, catchy. I highly recommend it if you like this genre of music, I was not disappointed at all! It is one of the few albums that I keep listening to and just keep loving it more and more. I also recommend Casker's 3rd album, 'Between', also very similar in style to 'Skylab'. This is Korean underground hip hop at its best. Produced by The Quiett himself, whom I find extremely talented, most of the tracks are instrumental ones with a few that featured guest rappers. Most of the songs are laid back infused with a mixture of lounge hip hop and soul. Track number 3 with Cubic's vocals was a pleasure to listen to, slow and very soothing. Track 12 was particularly stood out for me with its beautifully haunting melody and guitar accompanyment which was simply unforgettable for me. Buy it if you like chilled lounge/soul hip hop. October 2, 2006 One of my best hiphop albums!I decided to give Eluphant a try despite the fact that I had never heard of them because they hail from the same company (Soul Company) that produced underground hip hop artists like The Quiett and Paloalto's individual and collaborative albums, both of which are my favourite artists. The style in this album did not disappoint, in fact I have no regrets buying this album at all. I love all the tracks on the album and haven't stopped listening to it since I got it. Every song is good. The songs are either slow or mid tempo infused with a lounge hip hop/soul twist which is what I love. Its very soothing and gives a chillout feeling. There is a mixture of slow and fast tempo R&B songs. If you are a fan of R&B, this is a must buy. There is a mixture of mid-tempo and slow rap with very smooth grooves. It also features guest vocalists like Infinite Flow. I loved every song and did not regret buying this album.
