A monumental achievement in the world of Japanese animation, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is considered by many to be Miyazaki Hayao's masterpiece. With the coexistence of humans and nature as its central theme, this fantastic tale is set in a sobering vision of what could be our own near future.
After an apocalyptic war known as the "Seven Days of Fire," the civilizations that humans had prized so highly were wiped out. One thousand years after the war, the remnants of humanity eke out their existence in a small area of land, threatened on all sides by the "Sea of Corruption," a vast forest of fungi and insects.
One evening, a gigantic transport vessel hailing from the Kingdom of Torumekia crashes into the Valley of the Wind - a small pocket of land protected by ocean breezes from the deadly "miasma" gas that blows across the land. The people of the valley, under the direction of Princess Nausicaa, work to clean up the wreckage of the vessel, and in its remains they discover the devastating weapon that obliterated humanity so many years ago in the war.
The valley is attacked by Kushana, princess of Torumekia, and soon the inhabitants of the valley become caught in the middle of a war between Torumekia and the city of Pejite...
This 2-DVD set includes plenty of extras, including storyboards accompanied by the film's soundtrack. By using the angle button on the DVD remote control, it is possible to switch between storyboards and finished film scenes. Other extras include audio commentary, theatrical trailers and teasers. The cover art is an original watercolor by Miyazaki himself. The DVD keepcase is nestled into a beautiful soft case featuring the Giant God Warrior.

| this clip is very intresting it show the girl that can communicate with nature and understand the feeling of the insets that try to kill the people, she protects both human and nature. she is also very strong unlike any other princess you seen in movies or films this one very courages and likes to run around the place. Good moive to watch!! |

This was pretty good
| I had to watch this twice because I missed parts of it... It was quite interesting but not too exciting with a tad bit of romance... It really shows that women are quite strong... as both leads, evil and good are female... Something enjoyable to watch after you've watched the super good ones... |

This is my favorite movie and its too bad theres no rating of 11 and above. It deserves more than a 10. If you were one of the first people to pre order, you were able to get a soft case as a first pressing edition. 1st DVD contains the theatrical feature and a movie trailer for Ghost in the Shell: Innocence. 2nd DVD comes loaded with extras (nausicaa trailers, making of nausicaa, etc). Don't just sit there pondering and procastinating. Buy it! |

| I watched this movie in hong kong when i was about 7 years old, rented it for two months straight. I lost track of that movie when i moved back to america. Now 15 years later they finally release it out on DVD and bring it over here to america! YEAH!!!!!!! i cant wait for my copy to arrive!!!! |
