Master of weirdness Kawasaki Minoru strikes again with the goofball comedy Neko Ramen Taisho! Continuing with the topsy-turvy genius he's dished in previous films like sci-fi parody The World Sinks Except Japan and animal-suit classics The Calamari Wrestler and Executive Koala, this time Kawasaki presents the live-action adaptation of Sonishi Kenji's popular comic about a cranky ramen-making cat. The hilarious silver-screen incarnation of Neko Ramen, which has also been adapted into a popular anime series, follows the adventures of a feline ramen chef portrayed by a very expressive stuffed cat. Watch Neko Ramen create imaginative noodle dishes, get run over by a car, and make out with a (real) cat! There are also many humans in the movie, including idol Nagasawa Nao and popular heartthrob Kato Kazuki from Hotaru no Hikari and Kamen Rider Kabuto who plays the straight man to Neko Ramen's delightful madness.
