Five years ago, acclaimed director Ishii Katsuhito (Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl and The Taste of Tea) created the quirky anime series Hal & Bons for his Grasshoppa! digital magazine project. Split into four short episodes, the amusing 3D CG anime about two couch-potato, beer-drinking dogs and a hyperactive rice cake proved to be extremely popular, so much so that Ishii resurrected the dogs in 2005 for a second season. Get ready for nine more episodes of understated antics in the New Hal & Bons!

In the original series, rice cake Mochi-kun comes to interview blasé canines Hal and Bons, and ends up staying to live with them (or more precisely, live off them). In the new series, another character will enter their lives - a child Mochi!

とある銀河系にある"ヒマ玉星"。そこに住む犬のコンビ、ハル＆ボンスは、日がなビールを飲みながらのんびりと過ごしていた。そんなある日、"インタビュアー"のモチがやってきて、2人のもとに居候を決め込んでしまう。ハル＆ボンスは、図々しくもどこか憎めないモチの素顔を垣間見ていくのだが…。
