Quickly checking into a nearby emergency room, Kang Kook starts treating the man and Eun Sung (Ji Sung), an intern who witnesses Kang Kook's brilliance in action, decides to follow in the footsteps of the master. Soon after, Kang Kook is asked to head the cardiology department of Kwang Hee University Hospital. The job entails many headaches for the straight-arrow surgeon - one being his decision to deny residency to two applicants: Eun Sung and Hye Seok. After a few struggles, Kang Kook caves in and accepts them as junior registrars, but watches their every move like a hawk.
