Nintendo pushes the portable gaming system to another level with the Nintendo 3DS, their latest iteration of the popular Nintendo DS handheld and the first to incorporate 3D. The top screen of the Nintendo 3DS is able to produce an autostereoscopic 3D effect that can be viewed without the use of 3D glasses, with the effect adjustable via a 3D depth slider on the side of the side of the device. All Nintendo 3DS games can be played in 3D or 2D depending on the slider's setting. The lower screen is a non-3D resisitive touch pad that can be interacted with via the included adjustable stylus or a person's fingers.

3D isn't the only new advance for the 3DS. The system's processor is capable of creating visuals that rival its handheld gaming competitors, and control has been improved via the inclusion of an analog control stick. The system includes both an accelerometer and a gyroscope to allow the system to respond to physical actions like tilting or spinning. In addition, the system possesses 3 cameras - the first faces the player and can capture 2D images and video, while the other 2 allow the user to take 3D photos! The cameras can also be used for previous DSi software, as the system is backwards-compatible with both the DS and DSi systems.

Note: This version of the Nintendo 3DS is compatible only with software manufactured for use in Japan, and will not play software manufactured for use in North America, Europe or Australia.
