Hyper-violent caper flick with comic relief Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
In "No Blood No Tears", Lee Hye Young plays a woman whose hot temper and bad decisions has plunged her life into a dead end. She spends her days driving around drunken and obnoxious jerks in her taxi in order to scrape together enough cash to pay off loan sharks, while yearning for the daughter that was taken from her due to her irresponsibility. Boxer-turned-gangster Jung Jae Young runs a dogfighting racket for his gangster boss and, in his free time, uses his wannabe songstress girlfriend (Jeon Do Yeon) as a punching bag. Jeon, tired of taking Jung's abuse, conceives a scheme to steal the cash generated from the dogfights; she recruits Lee to assist her in the heist. However, Jeon's scheme goes haywire and all heck breaks loose. "No Blood No Tears" mixes the intricate plotting of a caper flick with extreme thuggish violence, car chases, and madcap comedy -- and makes it all work. The cast is tremendous, the script hits most of the right notes, and the high-octane pacing of the film never lets up. For my tastes, there was one brutal fight to many; by the end, I felt benumbed by the violence. However, "No Blood No Tears" provides so much good stuff en route to its destination that I definitely can recommend this cinematic thrill ride.

Cool stuff Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Interesting movie. Reminds me of Quentin Tarantino's Pulp fiction and David Mamet's Heist. Gotta c it for yourself.

Violent movie Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
Yes this movie had it's good points, I liked the ending - and the general plot, however I found the level of violence directed at women disturbing and none of the male characters were likable, all seemed to regard women as punchbags, or at best - deserving of no respect.

i give it 8 not 10 because..... Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
i had high expectation for this movie. Simply because i love Ryu Sung Hwan's works. He's pure genius and it is NOT so rare that korean directors are influenced by HK cinema (when i become a director, watch me). Ryu Sung Hwan's previous work like 'Die Bad' has got to me one of the grittiest and shocking movie of all time.
back to 'No Blood No Tears'... actors played their parts competently. i thought KGB's bodyguard, Silentman (Korea's only action choreographer, Jung Doo Honh) was Ryu Sung Hwan's tribute to Jet Li (the way he fought, dressed, etc). Joen Do Youn was very good as the 'star-wannabe, stuck with a deadbeat boyfriend'. Ryu Sung Bum, Ryu Sung Hwan's brother had a minor role, but i can see a bright future for him. one more thing, this movie reminded me a lot of 'Snatch'. the style, tone, and mood and everything.

Pulp Movie Style ... with 2 bad girls Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
I really liked the style of the movie ( Flashy with lots of bad guys & girls )

But the story was to simple ( 2 girls hunting for the money of the bad guys - The exchange bags story )
I love korean movies - especially the "korean style & humor" but this one was too "hollywood"

But I will keep it in my collection, maybe the movies will be better I watch it the 3rd time.....

Great Movie! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
One of the best Korean movies so far. very fast & fun to watch. Definitely lots of verbal & physical abuse thus shouldn't be suitable for teensters, but for others, this is a great stress buster. Style similar to Pulp Fiction but at much higher speed and more violence. Lee and Jung put up great act and well supported by other characters under well thought-out plots. There is no dull or boring moment in the movie but filled with humor and action. This should have been a great hit. Highly recommended, tops all other Korean movies.
