Taiwan singer-songwriter Ze Hwang made her informal debut in 1997 with her DIY album titled No Budget. She wrote and sang all the songs on the album and played guitar, then produced 200 copies on cassette tapes, complete with lyric sheets and peculiar gifts! It was totally an amateur affair, but the music was so good that it attracted the attention of a record company, which then signed her. Twelve years later, the long out-of-print and highly sought-after album is re-released in CD format for the very first time, which sports a cover design with hand-drawn illustrations of cassette tapes!
