ひとつの時代が終わって、新たな伝説が始まる！カルトな人気を誇るシリーズ最新作！／前年の秋「新宿アウトロー ぶっ飛ばせ」（１９７０年）で、原田芳雄の魅力を引き出した藤田敏八が、第二作に続いて「野良猫ロック」を演出。今回は、新宿西口の浄水場跡で、気ままに暮らすヒッピーが主人公。ドテラ姿のピラ（原田芳雄）をリーダーに、ジョン・レノン風のマッポ（藤竜也）たちが女の子と共同生活をしている。そこで地方の有力者の息子・隆明（地井武男）が、恋人・振り子（梶芽衣子）と一緒にいるところを暴走集団が襲いかかり、隆明は実家に連れ去られる。現場にはヘス（安岡力也）の死体が残され、振り子は殺人犯の汚名を着せられる。こうした劇的な事件とピラたちのドロップアウトした日常が、藤田らしい浮遊感とユートピア志向のなかで展開。人格改造された隆明は“大人になること”を選択し、共同体のなかで自由を謳歌し続けるピラたち。その拮抗が、やがて壮絶な戦いへと発展。モップスの「御意見無用」の狂躁感！１９７０年を駆け抜けたシリーズの最終作にして、藤田映画の出発点ともいうべき傑作。 映像特典:劇場予告篇
