A television journalist (Kobayashi Masafumi) is investigating a series of paranormal phenomena. An actress is possessed by spirits, a psychic goes crazy, aborted fetuses disappear from hospitals - these seemingly unrelated events all point to a demon called "Kagutaba" and an ancient ritual that was practiced in the now destroyed village of Shimokage. With his camera in hand, Kobayashi sets out to track down the village's former residents and Kagutaba itself. How far will he go to complete his documentary?

Ichise Takashige, producer of such fright classics as Ring, Dark Water, and Ju-on, presents another thrillingly bone-chilling Japanese horror entry. Directed by Shiraishi Koji (Ju-rei), the documentary-like Noroi is a terrifying mix of Blair Witch visuals and tried-and-true J-horror storytelling.
