Taiwan's popular hip-hop group Da Mouth (Aisa, Harry, MC 40, and DJ Chung Hua) are unleashing their third album One Two Three on January 23, 2010. The theme this time is "the future", and the new album is packed with electronic pop dance numbers that are said to be much ahead of the current music trend. Among the 12 tracks (two of which are instrumental), the first plug to come off the album is Rock It, a disco / house anthem allegedly representing what the young generation is thinking.
Deluxe Edition comes with a Bonus DVD containing 5 music videos and a 50-minute special revealing behind-the-scenes footage of Da Mouth.

Da mouth have been described as the Taiwanese answer to The Black Eyed Peas and I guess being a three guy and one girl band with a strong electro sound it isn’t surprising that this comparison has happened. Having said this they are not as rappy or perhaps as edgy as TBEPs but nevertheless they are one brilliant group. Their album is well produced and each song features catchy choruses, heavy electro baselines, and a wonderful mix of sweet female vocals against the deeper male ones. Personally I think that their album reminds me more of a mixture between SuJu’s Sorry Sorry album, Brit pop singer La Roux, G-Dragon’s Heartbreaker and even a little of Ayumi Hamasaki’s Whatever on the track Turn Up the Music!!! There is only two songs that I didn’t really like called Love Me Or Not and Happy Birthday which I found a little too bubblegum pop compared to the other, more mature songs on the album. I can’t believe that Da Mouth aren’t more popular, as their album is fresh, modern and a pleasure to listen to!!! Expect big things from them in the future!!!! I also have to mention the staggeringly brilliant packaging that you get in the autographed edition. Although you don’t get the standard lyric book with photos what you do get is a lyric book with autographs!!!!!! And if that wasn’t enough you also get a military style, fringe edged badge with a crown and DM embroidered on it alongside a black feather and some military style buttons ... FANTASTIC!!!! |
