YesAsia Editorial Description
From the makers of Beast Cops comes Option Zero, a thrilling action-drama that possesses the trademark authenticity and attention to character its filmmakers are known for! Julian Cheung is Ai, a member of Hong Kong's Special Branch, an elite law enforcement force that's on its way out in the wake of the 1997 Handover. Ai decides to try out for G4, Hong Kong's homegrown Secret Service organization, along with former Special Branch colleagues Monica Chan and Lebon Cheung. However, the stresses of Ai's job begin to intrude into his personal life and relationship with girlfriend Carmen Lee. Can Ai learn to be a good cop, but a better man? Director Dante Lam takes great pains in Option Zero to flesh out his characters and their personal lives, and the result is an action film with uncommon human sensitivity. Still, action director Chin Ka Lok provides numerous exciting set pieces, which thrill with kinetic gunplay and authentic procedural detail. Co-starring the Beast Cops themselves, Anthony Wong and Michael Wong, Option Zero is an exciting and vivid exploration of regular people who put their lives on the line for the greater good.

Pretty good!

I would have to say..this movie has a great romantic plot..yet the police scenes and the cases are kinda blah. I felt that the production was done too dark..and you could never tell what was going on....especially cause they are wearing dim clothes as well. I felt that it was a little confusing at times. I loved the story between Chi Lam's character and Carmen Lee's character. I thought it was cute and adorable. I think...up until half the movie was over..I understood what was going on! I found Chan Fat Yune and Chi Lam's relationship to be very cute, yet sad. She loved him for all those years and she forced herself to become strong enough for the G4 squad, yet when she couldn't she was overcome with sadness since she had no more excuses to be with him. I really liked this movie, yet in certain parts it was just plain confusing. I reconmmend it to people who are very into " cop" movies. It's worth the money. Heck, Julian Cheung Chi lam is in it! That's worth everything! |
