"Park Jung Hyun Live - Op.4 Concert Project 4th Movement THE ALBUM"- Ever-Improving Live Performance of the R&B Queen "Park Jung Hyun Live - Op.4 Concert Project 4th Movement THE ALBUM" gathers the best of the best on the previous four albums of Park Jung-hyun who completed 3 consecutive live concerts during 6 months. How do you understand the song title "2geTHer"? It is actually a play on words meaning the English word "Together". Seems that it is the perfect title for this track as it is a provoking piece of music that can easily arouse live audiences. However, if you think the continuous screaming and hailing are a bit too annoying, this live album may not be your cup of tea. I can say, nevertheless, that both live recordings and studio recordings have their own distinctive styles . The live band of high quality really deserves some credit for the passionate tune "Someone". You can find Park Jung-hyun humming the highest pitch in the last section of this number. "You Mean Everything to Me" is a tuneful track that fills your heart with sweetness. Park Jung-hyun can already handle the strong tunes pretty well but I still think that her vocal may not be explosive enough in generating firmness. A better approach for her may be to deal with such tunes by utilizing her soft vocal to the utmost. With the further decrease in tempo and volume, "Ordinary" demonstrates the more skilful control Park Jung-hyun has over her vocal. The song is completely up-lifted by the playing of the electric guitar in the second part . It would, however, be even more enchanting if she could only manage to keep a better emotional balance while singing in English. Both the liveliness and the tenderness of Park Jung-hyun are embodied on "It's Me". I bet it will surely top the list of her music lovers. One thing is definite, Park Jung-hyun 's live performances are certainly heading for improvement and maturity. if you are reading this review you are probably already familiar with the voice of lena park; so i won't discuss how amazing i thnk her talent is--if i noticed anything about yesasia's own editorial reviews, they pepper almost every artist review with compliments that have little meaning or depth (sorry guys! i still love your site~) instead, i wanted to give you my take on the live concert. granted, i wasn't there =( but tha's what the cd and supplement dvd's all about, rite? the cd portion is a compliation of the live performances of lena park during her three-concert tour. the dvd is a short edit highlighting the concert w/ a short interview at the interlude with the artist on her life-pursuit and love for music and her role as a student. so why listen to the songs you've already heard on cd so many times before..? this is going to sound mean, but usually with the case of korean artists, live albums suck. this is b/c their performances sound nothing better than their recordings (sometimes worse) and you've got that annoying, screaming crowd in the background. but what makes lena park's live concert different is that she is a genuine performer--her wild tone pitches and her savvy play on melodies make each performance a different experience from the original recordings. not to mention her picaresque smile and subtle expressions (if you're watching it on dvd). speaking of which, if you purchase the cd + dvd bundle, they're actually packaged in one deep, sleek hardcased box that resembles more of a collector's item rather than a place to hold your cd. the case is complete with one double cd jewel-case, one dvd jewel-case, a fold-out poster of her august 2003 concert (similar to the red cover you see pictured), and lengthy photo-book of pictures taken from the concert. it's quite a nice package. so if you're a lena fan, you don't need anyone's review to purchase this item. this album is not a dull reenactment of past recordings, but a true performance. i personally ordered & received the autographed LE from yesasia b/c i luv lena (lena zzang!) and yes, i'm a dork. ^^ hope this review was helpful! |

| I have loved Lena's voice since I first bought Op.4 all the way to her Piece album. (I guess I went backwards but her voice is so pretty I couldn't hear a difference.) I was very excited to see she is finally releasing more. I love her live album. I wish the concert had been a little longer there were so many songs I wanted to see her perform... |

the only annoying thing i don't like about live cd's are that all u hear are the fans screaming!! >_< i prefer cds that are just cds... not live cds... but the songs are nice and u get to hear lena's voice live live.. ^_^ the songs are really nice and have a nice ballad... u should get this is ur a true lena park fan!! |
