YesAsia Editorial Description

A light comedy featuring the hottest young Mandarin pop idols, Pasta stars the sweet Cyndi Wang and singer Nicholas Teo who always sings with a charming smile - the Chinese title of this drama actually translates as "Smiling Pasta". Nicholas Teo plays a pop idol in Pasta, a role he should be very familiar with. Cyndi Wang plays Hsiao-shi, the granddaughter of a pasta restaurant owner whose romantic relationships never last more than 3 months. The drama opens with Hsiao-shi about to celebrate her 3-month anniversary with her boyfriend by having her grandfather's special pasta dish. Unfortunately, she gets dumped by her boyfriend yet again, exactly three months after they started dating. Frustrated and depressed, Hsiao-shi walks aimlessly on the street and bumps into a pop singer (Nicholas Teo) who kisses her by accident...

Apart from leading the cast, Cyndi Wang and Nicholas Teo also sing the theme songs for Pasta. The cover version of the old song It's So Easy by Cyndi Wang unveils every episode, whereas Nicholas Teo's enchanting "Tears of Polaris" concludes the show.

A Decent Series Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
After being constantly recommended by friends to watch this series, I decided to give it a chance despite not being very familiar with mandarin. Known as Taiwanese version Full House, I did see similarities between the two dramas. If the two series were to be compared I would say Full House is better. But Smile Pasta was rather creative and sweet too. The first episode captured my attention and made me addicted to the series. Nicholas Teo and Cyndi Wang both did a good job portraying their characters. They make a very cute sweet bickering pair. There were many scenes in the series that made me feel really touched. The songs in the series were also another delight. I especially liked the two Nicholas Teo songs, Little Turtle and Tears from Polaris. I definitely recommend this series especially to those who enjoyed Full House and fans of Nicholas/Cyndi.

Good drama but no ending Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This china edision which offers 22 vcds is not the whole drama. In actual fact it only covers up to episodes 12. Otherwise this is a fun and cute drama!! Funny plot that will keep you laughing!

Good show! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is a very good show. The plot and style is very similar with 'It Started with a Kiss': where a girl chases after a popular guy.
The storyline is full of funny moments and the characters have been acted well: didn't know that Cyndi can act too!
The soundtrack is outstanding as well: especially the songs by Nicholas Teo.
Overall, if you enjoyed ISWAK, then you'll love this!!
Thumbs-up!
