A great intro to the songs of Tsin Ting Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
If you've watched a lot of Shaw Brothers movies, then chances are good that you already will be familiar with many of the classic songs on this excellent album. The disk provides an astonishingly wide variety of songs, including ballads, torch songs, rock, pop, and traditional Chinese folk. There's even a waltz! And throughout there are the crystal-clear, pitch-perfect, wonderfully strong vocals of Tsin Ting. If you enjoy the music of this era, then you surely will enjoy this album.

The Very Versatile Tsin Ting Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Congratulations to EMI for releasing this CD. All 23 tracks are from Shaw Brothers movies, showing Tsin Ting at her best and most versatile, with the majority of songs spanning the 1960s. I think of the 23 tracks, only one - the song from "Shepherd Girl" has previously been on a compilation CD. The remaining are on CD for the first time which makes this CD a must-buy for fans of Mandarin songs. I have played my copy at least 100 times and I am still not bored. I hope we will see more EMI releases of this kind of good music.

Yes...must agree with Terence on this...So many rare and wonderful songs on this CD...! A delight to the ears.....And TERENCE...I HAVE one of those Singapore "Ruby" 45's you mentioned...I have the "Lingering Love" one....and YES...I noticed that when I play the 45, the songs just sound so SLOW...THANK YOU for clarifying...(I thought my turntable was in need of repair....Who knew???).....Terence, you seem to be a WORLD of information on 'oldies' things....I'd love to contact you...but HOW?!?!?

Quintessential Tsin Ting Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I have been waiting for this cd a very long time. It contains all the famous songs from the Shaw movies sung to perfection by Tsin Ting who was really the singing voice behind Shaw actresses like Lin Dai, Betty Loh Tih, Li Ching, Lily Ho and many others. The selection of songs is perfect thanks to Richard Tay and the remastering is brilliant thanks to Robin Cherry in UK. I am surprised at the inclusion of 2 super-rare tracks from the Singapore "Ruby" label. That release on 45 vinyl had purposely slowed down Tsin Ting's voice to pass her off as Betty Loh Tih. Robin has corrected the speed here so that Tsin Ting sounds like herself again. So put on the cd, close your eyes and let Tsin Ting's melodious voice transport you back to the 60s and the magic of the Shaw movies that you have always loved. This is indeed worth waiting for......a cd to cherish.
