Commercially successful filmmaker Wong Jing writes, directs, and even makes an appearance in Perfect Girls, a madcap romantic comedy released in 1990! In New York, an aging millionaire is on the verge of death, but before he passes on into the great unknown, he needs to choose an heir for his $300 million dollar fortune. Upset that his only grandson, Lin Tien Chi (Wilson Lam) remains unmarried and concerned that the family name will not be carried on, the old man comes up with an interesting motivational proposition: if Tien Chi marries within a month, he will receive the inheritance, but if he fails, it all goes to the old man's nephew, Robert (Keith Kwan). Unfortunately for Tien Chi, the crafty Robert learns of this pact and quickly travels to Hong Kong to throw a wrench into Tien Chi's quest for matrimonial bliss!

But the mission won't be easy. Tien Chi is extremely bashful around girls and seems to have his standards set a bit too high: his perfect woman has to be a combination of Maggie Cheung, Cherie Chung, and Brigitte Lin! Definitely a tall order for any woman to live up to! But as luck would have it, Tien Chi meets the beautiful Lo Hsiao Hsiao (Michelle Reis Lee) and a romance between the two soon blossoms. Laughs abound when she introduces him to her rough and tumble family, including her triad gangster brother Leslie, played by Shing Fui On! But with Tien Chi's mother objecting to Hsiao Hsiao as a mate and Robert setting him up with the alluring Feng Mu-Jen (Nina Li), will Tien Chi be forced to marry just anyone or will he find true love by following his heart?
