Pink Lady no Katsudou Daishashin (Japan Version) DVD Region 2

In 1978, top-selling Japanese pop duo, Pink Lady, starred in their one and only movie, Pink Lady no Katsudo Daishashin, or as it was known in English - Pink Lady's Great Motion Picture. The film is a bizarre triptych of vignettes that detail different potential ideas for a Pink Lady movie, as dreamt up by three very bizarre movie directors.

The story begins with Mei (Nemoto Mitsuyo) and Kei (Masuda Keiko) in New York, fielding questions from the World press about their new movie. The creative team in Tokyo are hard at work brainstorming what exactly the Pink Lady opus is to be, and we enjoy three vastly different, not to mention rather surreal, stories.

The first set up takes the form of a Japanese dorama (or soap opera). Kei and Mei are sisters, who both mistakenly fall in love with the same man! In the second story, the ladies aide a giant, fluffy, ewok-like monster called Mon-Chan in its escape from a particularly nasty circus, and in the final act Mei and Kei head to the Wild West and get caught up in a violent saloon showdown.
