Featuring two of now Korea's most popular stars, the controversial 2000 youth feature Plum Blossom revolves around two high school boys as they experience their first tastes in love and sexuality. Directed by Kwak Ji Kyun (Portrait of Our Youth, Fly High), the film stars Bae Du Na and Kim Rae Won, who won the Blue Dragon Best New Actor Award for his performance, in one of their earliest films.

After transferring to a new school, high school student Ja Hyo (Kim Rae Won) is seduced by mature classmate Hara (Yun Ji Hae) and they sleep together. Afterwards, Ja Hyo feels embarrassed and deliberately shuns Hara, who ends up killing herself because of his rejection. After Hara's death, Ja Hyo continues to have sexual encounters, but he is unable to develop a real relationship. Even after he meets Nam Ok (Bae Du Na) who genuinely loves and cares for him, Ja Hyo he can't seem to let go of the past.

　　Teenage hormones are difficult to be restrained. High school senior, Jayo is seduced into his first sexual experience by classmate Hara, who eventually kills herself when he ignores her. Since them he immerses himself in loveless sex until he meets cheerful nurse, Namok. Meanwhile, his pal Seuin has developed a crush on his teacher, which is socially taboo. PLUM is a tender coming of age story about two teenage boys who embrace growing pains in a hard way.

this is a category III movie starring kim rae won who is famous for his television show rooftop cat. he did this movie before doing that tv show. he looks real young in this movie. and you get to see him naked (only the backside though but he's got a nice highly defined round buttocks a real work of art). this movie story is about a young high school boy who got seduced by his female classmate. at first he is nervous and scared but after doing it with her and when he went to school he did not talk to her at all. this upset her too much. later he feel guilt and want to revenge. he goes and have sex with every female that is willing to have sex with him. just sex romp after sex romp and it is all meaningless and empty. then one day he realize he should not be acting like this.

HE DESERVES THE AWARD IN THIS FILM. VERY HOT RAE MOVIE. DIDN'T EXPECT HIM PLAYING SUCH ROLES. HOT SHOTS TALAGA.

IF YOUR A FAN, ITS EITHER YOU WANT MORE OR YOU WILL FEEL DISSAPPOINTED. FOR ME, OK LANG. I LIKE HIM REALLY. MY NO. 1 FAVORITE MALE KOREAN ACTOR.

I find the movie an excellent one in revealing teenage boys' immature experience with sex. Kim Rae Won's acting is superb given his young age and his relevant short history of acting when the film was shot. He is very natural in most parts of the film.

Plum Blossom stars the very popular Kim Rae Won. He is very young in this movie. He has this very innocent look which fits well with his character Jayo who is a high school student who has never experienced sex before. Then Jayo is seduced by a female classmate and has his first sexual experience. Then you see him have this sexually mature aura. He later does not take sex seriously and abuses it. In the end he realizes that it is serious and it should not be abused. This is a good movie which deals with a simple subject matter. I think it did pretty fair in terms of the story. The acting was okay. Overall this movie is good, but it is not recommended for children under the age of 18 because it contains nudity and strong language. Please be advised.

Kim Rae Won is very young and very good looking in this movie. In the beginning of the movie it is very sad about his character Jayo being seduced by a female student and then he decides to have meaningless and loveless sex. Also Jayo's high school classmate, who then becomes his roommate, likes their high school teacher and he cannot stop thinking about her. After he did it with the teacher, he jumped into the water falls and that was it. That was very sad. After seeing this happen, Jayo finally realizes that he has found his love partner and does not want their relationship to end in a sad way. So he goes back to her because he realizes that their is such thing as love. And he realizes that he wants to be loved and end the vicious cycle of loveless sex. Kim Rae Won is very good in this movie. I like his acting from innocent boy to sexually mature man. Very interesting movie about a sensitive subject matter.
