YesAsia Editorial Description
Palace, a.k.a. Princess Hours, was hailed as "the future of Korea's TV drama industry" by Variety magazine. The innovative premise, vivid cinematography, elaborate sets and costume designs, and fresh young cast charmed the audience, pulling in ratings of nearly 30 percent during its broadcast in Korea. Starring breakout stars Ju Ji Hoon, Yoon Eun Hae of Baby V.O.X., and Kim Jung Hun of UN, Palace was so popular the series was extended to 24 episodes from its original 20. In addition, a sequel is already in the works.
Shin (Ju Ji Hoon) may be the picture-perfect Crown Prince, but he is aloof and wary of his royal status. Commoner Chae Gyung (Yoon Eun Hye) is headstrong and outspoken, but fiercely loyal to her loved ones. Their worlds unexpectedly collide when an arranged marriage makes them husband and wife! It's not exactly "happily ever after" for this royal odd couple as they try to make sense of their relationship. Chae Gyung has trouble adjusting to palace life and Shin is still pining for his girlfriend Hyo Rin (Song Ji Hyo). Life gets even more complicated when Prince Yool (Kim Jung Hun) returns to the Palace to compete for both Chae Gyung's affection and the throne.

Product Information
Shin Chae-kyeong and Lee Shin, because they dont know each other well, go through numerous incidents in which they end up fighting. Chae-kyeong witnesses the scene where Lee Shin proposes to another woman to avoid their arranged marriage and this is how the two become fully aware of each other's feelings. The story evolves from the fact that Chae – kyoung's grandfather was very close to the former monarch, whose wish was for her and Shin to get married. This gives some impetus to the otherwise unrealistic union of the two. As the drama progresses, many other fine men, including Lee Yool, a cousin of the royal family, make their appearance. The story of the two characters, who keep quarreling about structural problems such as the rules of the royal household in the midst of the difficulties of being a prince and of the arranged marriage, will unfold in an interesting way. The show s fun lies in the episodes concerning the status gap that exists between a prince and an ordinary citizen. As more problems of status arise, the uniqueness of being a prince will be more greatly exposed, and doubling the fun of Princess Hours.

I wasn't a type of sope drama holic before I watched this drama. but.. now.. I can't tell to anyone who is drama holic.. ha ha ha ha...sigh~. In this drama you can find what Korean dynasty's elegance and beauty means. The royal family wear the traditonal korean clothes, have a traditional foods, behave traditonla etiquette. But also it combines todays fashion on going. In korea, this drama has been smashing influence on TV audience (especially women). a lot fan club of 'princess hours' has been working nowdays. they are all lovers of all players of the darma 'princess hours' |

I finally received it after about 3 weeks wait but I'm not complaining since I didn't mind how long, atleast it arrived I'm happy :). The packaging was simple but protected extremely well. The DVD was region code 3 which I thought wasn't going to work on my DVD player since I previously had some region code 3 DVDs and they were invalid region codes for my DVD player. I guess they were little cheap ones sold on the streets to be honest ^^. The Drama is extremely good and fun to watch again. The chemistry between Shin and Chae-kyung is extremely good and I hope that they would have a chance to cast in the same Drama in the future ^^. I really felt that this Drama was worth the purchase to keep for life rather than watching it on Youtube or Video before but now it's been licenced :p. As a previous reviewer said, the subtitles may not be the best in the world but they are extremely good in my opinion. Better than my previous purchase, Full House's subtitles. |

| Yoon was extremely childish most of the time. I don't like Prince Lu but I was pleased when he took upon himself everything his mother did and eventually accepted his fate. Feel frustrated with the crown prince sometimes because of his coldness and pride but nevertheless you'll fall for him. The ending is alright but could have been better. |
