Fantastic CD!

This is easily Rainie`s best CD so far. Her debut was great, but since then she hasn`t really done anything that great. Her last CD was pleasant, but nothing more. Maybe it was the quality of songs that let her down. All the songs on the new CD are great and her voice has never sounded better. |

I admit I am surprised at the lack of favorable reviews for this release! I have all of Rainie's previous albums and this is the only one I have ever played more than a few times (I did like her debut album when it first released, but it's not even as good as this one is to me...). Her last album specifically was a huge dissapointment for me personally. I LOVE her new look (she finally looks her age...) and I think her sound is on it's way to the true potential of her vocal strengths. She's very talented, and this album is letting her demonstrate that in unique ways for her. I wouldn't have purchased more music from her if it stayed as before...now? I find I listen to this album frequently and remain impressed. I also am eager to watch her further develop. As for WHY I like the music on this CD so much, it's just more refined and mature. The orchastration behind her vocals is more lush and rich. With the exception of track 3, which is still too bouncy for my personal tastes (although to be fair, she hits every single note of a rather complicated melody...), the songs all join into the most cohesive-sounding album she's yet to release. Her voice flows from song to song in the ups and downs of up-tempo tracks to ballads harmoniously without ever sounding boring or disjointed. My absolute favorite track of this release is 6 "Ban Shu Xuan Yan" as it is a magnificent example of her growth and true artistry. In next order my favorites would have to be (track 1), (track 4), (track 5), (track 10), (track 2), (track 8). I'm least fond of (track 7) and (track 9)...although they do provide a fun factor to the release, but in a more adult way than Rainie has previously expressed herself. I only skip the aforementioned track 3 because the melody, while complex and intriquing at first, becomes monotonous as the song progresses. I do honestly think this is an above-average release for the market and certainly Rainie's personal best. My only complaint is that there are no music videos! Rainie has this lovely new look and these delightful fresh new songs...and not a DVD of MVs. I would even re-buy the entire album just have an edition with 5-6 MVs. |

Not yet a woman..
Not yet a woman..
|
This is Rainies 4th album and as the title says: Not yet a woman fits quite well. Rainie is still childish in my eyes..however she is trying to grow up and leave her baby and cuteness sides behind, still she has some more walking to do before she can pass the cute class. If you listen close to it you can hear it sounds much more grown up than her last album.. (an album I disliked a lot - which doesnt really have anything to do with this album..) anyhow this album has more ballads and as for me and my ears.. it sounds more that Rainie has found a good pitch this time.. these songs fits her voice well ... then we don't know how it sounds live but on cd it's good enough for me! My fave songs on this album are: track 2 - 帶我走(Take me away) - is a sad song in my eyes and it made me cry~~ It is def. my absolute fave song with her!!, track 4 - 冷戰(Cold war) and track 8 在你懷裡的徵笑(in the arms of your smile). Yes I know, all ballads, but.. somehow.. I like her singing ballads more than uptempo songs~ But also following songs are good: Track 1 太煩惱(Too much trouble) and 7 愛我請shut up(Love me please shut up) which you can call more up-tempo still not too much. Both track 1 太煩惱 & 2 帶我走 was featured in her latest drama 不良笑花 - "Miss No Good"...co-star Will Pan. I have her 1st and 2nd album.. but not the third. But of these 4 albums.. I have to say.. This one is probably the best..then her 1st then 2nd. So if you are curious to see and listen to a bit more grown-up Rainie.. try to listen to this album! |

A GOOD & BOLD ATTEMPT, RAINIE !!!
|
Rainie takes on a more mature look at music in which the music brings out the growing-up phase of Rainie in her 4th album. I must say some songs do have a 60's Beatles touch & that brings out some refreshness from the current music scene. My favourite tracks include 帶我走, 我的愛吊點滴, 冷戰, 火星, 你懷裡的徵笑 and 幸福的節拍 . Out of her 4 albums so far, my favourite is still her 3rd album in which every tracks seem like a HIT & the ballads are much more haunting !!! |

My favorite tracks are #2, #8, #10, and #1, respectively. Recording is exceptionally good though. I agree w/ the 1st reviewer that she's more suitable for *cute* songs. |
