After watching the DVD I unfortunately was not too pleased with the performance. Jacky has a very good voice and technics to deliver a good performance. However a great artist is not just about delivering a flawless sound not about hitting the highest notes and not even about how nice it sounds. What he lacks is the ways to touch the heart of the audiences. I was not impacted by his performance emotinally. May be the correct way to say that is there is not enough soul. Granted, this is only a pop concert. But if I can't feel anything in a sad love song , there is something wrong with it.
He did much better when he sang his own cantonese songs. As for the madarin songs, he was so uptight in geting the correct pronounciations that he forgot about the songs' emotional aspect. Jacky is the best when he decides to be himself. When he tries to be someone else, I am afraid that it is not too good.
