本片為「百萬導演」羅維作品，由「金燕子」鄭佩佩及「大醉俠」岳華合演。故事描述，明建文四年，燕王勾通宦官纂位，發「靖難兵」破南京，傳說建文帝葬身火海，太子和玉璽下落不明；永樂帝派人偵查，得悉太子藏匿在武林義士上官浩（羅維）的黑龍會中，於是派武林敗類率官兵進剿圍捕；上官浩戰死，臨終時將太子與玉璽交女兒秀儀（鄭佩佩）與徒弟金振雄（吳風）；秀儀等在少俠趙飛雲（岳華）義助護送下逃亡……
Long before he became internationally famous for directing Bruce Lee's first film and giving Jackie Chan his big break, Lo Wei was famous for his acting. This was one of his most central roles, as the loyal leader of the Black Dragon Clan. Sharing the screen with him was swordswoman supreme Cheng Pei-pei, the luminous superstar who would later co-star in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Here she's the heroic woman warrior who saves the country while safeguarding a hoard of treasure.

Cheng Pei Pei shines
| The opening scenes of "Raw Courage" had me squirming in my seat. We first see an assault on an ancient fortress, but visible in the distant background are some very modern looking buildings. We then see a kind of standard-issue scene of an emperor giving away his baby son and imperial seal to his trusted aide before "going down with the ship", metaphorically speaking. Next the trusted aide is killed by the baddies, but not before passing off the babe and seal to his son and niece, with instructions to take them to a relative in a distant land. Okay, we've seen all that stuff before. However, once Cheng Pei Pei and her "brother" hit the road, the movie turns into one long action-packed chase scene filled with interesting characters. So, bear with the opening scenes; Cheng Pei Pei won't let you down. Recommended. |

| This swordplay saga is just an average rated movie; not too much excitment and thrillers. Cheng Pei Pei and Yue Hwa as usual maintained their standards. Still ok for viewing, |
