Great Listening
Great Listening
| Sandy Lam is a consistent and reliable artist. Unlike 95% of Chinese female artists, Mandarin and Cantonese, Ms Lam has a voice with range. She does not sound like a monotonous chirping bird. Her songs are emotionally mature and accessible - not manufactured bubble-gum waste. This album is no exception. "Ready" has a combined quality of R&B and jazz. "Are You Ready for Love" is a cover of an old song (possibly 60s or 70s). Although the remake of Carly Simon's "You're So Vain" is not as best as expected, the track is still very listenable. Finally, Ms Lam does a wonderful cover of Whitney Houston's "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" without going over the top. A gorgeous album! |

| I have a cassette version of Ready. I cherish it like a rare jewel. Unfortunately, cassette tape does not have a lasting quality. I have been looking for the CD version all over. Anyhow, I bought it when I first saw it here. The music has a jazz-like quality -- soothing and luminous. I listen to it everyday on my way to work. After all these years, every single track still has the same impact as I first listened to this album. Thank you YesAsia for bringing this great album back. |

Sandy Lam- Ready (1988, Epic)
| I LOVE this album. Every song is good except for #3 (re-make of Carly Simon's "Youre So Vain"). This album is far from 'adult contemporary'. Sandy Lam is one of my favorite Pop singers, ever! I am also happy to see it on CD! |

Are You Ready For Sandy??
| This is one of my favorite Sandy Lam CDs collection, at least this album is not too commerical among rest of her album. I will recommend all ten songs on this album, Cause this is a album will define adult contempoary. So Are you ready for Sany? |
