So good, a must buy Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
A truly beautiful CD, the most excellent music that I have heard since listening to Song Zuying. Gong Yue's singing is light and cheerful yet comprised of depth, her voice is one that is uniquely beautiful - listen and you will see, surely, you won't be dissapointed.

A Good Bye Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I decided to copy and paste my review from Min Ge Hong 2, since my comment is the same for both of Gong Yue's albums - Min Ge Hong 1 & 2. Here's my comment on Min Ge Hong 2:

...I could have given this album a score of 10 because I really like the singer and her singing style. Actually I also bought her first album "Min Ge Hong 1," but I did not buy it at Yesasia. I bought it at a video/audio store in a big shopping mall in Wang Fu Jing, Beijing and paid exactly 70 RMBs. [Consider yourself lucky if you can pick up this CD at Yesasia's sale price.] I especially like Gong Yue's "Tian Lu" in her first album, "Min Ge Hong 1." But like the first album, I am still [somewhat disappointed...]at her second album, "Min Ge Hong 2," not much because of her singing, but in the recording. I think somewhere along the recording and mastering process, someone decided to boost up the midrange and high frequencies by quite a few dBs, perhaps to give it the "tube" sound effect (which is very popular in most of today's vocal CDs). The side effect here, however, in this CD is if one listens to it through a tube amp, it makes the musical instruments ear-piercing and thins out Gong Yue's voice. The better your audio equipment is in delivering mids and highs, the worse it gets. It is a little more acceptable if one listens to it through a solid state amplifier setup with both bass and treble turned to neutral (0dB), if not way down. The CD sounds like the music has gone through an equalizer with exaggerated midranges and highs. Too much of a good thing could be bad. I hope the recording/mastering artist(s) could have realized this in her 1st album and made improvement on this second album of hers, but apparently this flaw was not picked up, and the mids and highs continues to be exaggerated. So I decided I should speak up this time. When I checked the sound with a spectrum analyzer, the album did have very good dynamics, the bass was coming in and out, but when the bass was not there, the sound spectrum looked more like a mountain skews towards the mids and highs. This confirms what my ears heard through tube and solid state amps.
