wonderful
| Finally, I have enough time to review this album. It's really a great album. I like the way Summer sings. It just so fun. The album has a lot diferrent styles of songs. A lot of mixing. I found rock n roll, ballad rock, a little blues, etc. The lyrics is unique. After all I like this band so much. Track 1 'Love, freedom' and track 9 'Autumn, summer, fall, winter' are the masterpiece of this band. I really really like these songs. The music arrangement is cool and fun.. I'm looking forward for their next album. |

I'd give more than 10 stars if I could...
| I bought this CD on a total whim. No idea what I was going to get, or anything. WOW. This has got to be one of the BEST Chinese CDs I have EVER bought! It's totally rock with some pop in it here and there. Very acoustic with lots of quitar. I also love how it's almost ALL up-tempo rock songs and only a few ballads (and I usually PREFER ballads). The singer is named Summer Hsu, and she wrote both lyrics and music for most songs on this LONG (14 tracks...what a deal) release. She has a brilliant songwriting ability and her vocals are amazing. She's tops in my mind with her voice. I totally love the feel of this CD...it's real rock-and-roll, but not over done. The songs remain happy and fun and not dark or eery like many rock singers do with their songs. This is a superb CD and I recommend it to anyone who loves great vocals with a fresh rock sound. It's not a lot of noise...like I said, it's acoustic and paired down to a fabulous voice and mostly quitar. The ONLY 2 songs I didn't like were tracks #4 and #9. Track #4 has a really odd beat to it that gives me a bit of a headache, and track #9 has too many other voices (like a choir almost...weird) in the beginning of it that makes the song not flow with the rest of the disk. Since there are 14 tracks on here, they could have easily omitted #4 and #9 and still had a full-length masterpiece. Believe me when I say: this CD is a TRUE breath of fresh air and a wonder. It's just perfect. It's a feel-good CD and I love that. And you know, I've been looking for a good Chinese rock band (with a female lead) for a long time...especially one that wasn't trendy with all the hip-hop and rap thrown in to ruin it. This CD is IDEAL. Not trendy at all...just laid back rock-and-roll the way it was meant to be: fun, well-sung and lots of acoustic guitar. BUY THIS you will not regret it for an instant. There are some ballads which are great too, but it's the ROCK that impresses me. And this girl can SING. Really rare talent. Remember the name of Summer Hsu and the band Relax One! I think you will see lots of them in the future...and I will be first in line for their next marvelous release. Utter and total magnificence! Again: BUY THIS. |
