Still a "10"...
Still a "10"...
| This artist is still a 10 of 10...despite the fact that this CD is 100% different than her last two releases. Her last two were basically guitar and piano albums, while this one really breaks her mold. This CD could be called "Japanese lyrics with Latin (Spanish) music". The voice remains passionate and strong, and simply outstanding in her field. The music, however, doesn't feel one bit Japanese. Instead, one feels as though they were stranded on a tropical island as the sun sets through the palm trees... Serene, yes. Typical for this artist, no. This CD has nothing in common with her two previous releases, although all three are magnificent. I think she merely felt the need to step away from her traditional melodies and style and try something totally new. Her voice is perfect for both styles, but if you are a fan of her last 2 CDs...you might not like this and vice versa. This CD is very tropical and you fully expect Spanish lyrics instead of Japanese! But, it's all good and interesting. Hopefully, her next CD will be more like the last 2 though. Still, this singer deserves a huge applause for trying something new and succeeding at it well. However, her previous albums had more of her spirit than I feel this one captures. On this CD prepare for a LOT of Spanish guitar solos and on occasion, even a bongo in the distance. In fact, track 6 reminds me of something I'd hear in a club in Chile or Peru. Even the background vocals sound like native Latin-singers. She is much more soulful on this release than her previous more pop-influenced CDs. Which can be a good or bad thing depending on what you are looking for. I must say...any fan of excellent and talented vocals will adore any of this artist's music. With this CD however...plan on swaying with tropical island rythymns and refrains and vibrating with the pulse of the native drums (bongos). Very unique and not at all expected from this singer. It's almost 2 CDs in one: a Spanish sounding CD with Japanese lyrics! A great, if unexpected release. Still, my advice (being a long time fan and admirer of this singer)...abandon the Latin theme and stick to previous styles. Nice switch for one CD though. Shows she can do it all! |

Another excellent production:
| I own all of this artist's CDs and I love them all. Her voice is like silk and the music is delightful. I pre-ordered this months in advance, because I knew I'd love it and I do! It's all in Japanese (which is a plus for me) and extremely passionate and happy. I'm glad she finally put photos of herself on a CD because her last two releases only had flowers on the covers, and I've been such a fan of hers, I like knowing what she looks like now! She looks like a nice person, and someone I would like to know. She remains talented and continues with the same style of music that has made her other CDs so wonderful. BUY THIS CD and fall in love with her perfect voice...you will not be dissapointed. And while you buy this release...buy her last 2 CDs as well. You MUST own all three and all are here at YESASIA. I will buy her CDs as long as she records them. I never tire of her lovely voice and sweet singing style. She is simply delightful and there are NO tracks that need to be skipped on ANY of her CDs. You get full value from this singer. Please...check out her work and be impressed! |
