A rare TVB production that is set in Macau, Return of the Cuckoo unfolds a warm and touching story that originates from incidents happened Twenty-two years ago. The TV series stars handsome singer Julian Cheung Chi-Lam and sweet TV actress Charmaine Sheh See-Man. Nancy Sit Ga-Yin's image as an affectionate mother in many of her later TV dramas can be traced back to Return of the Cuckoo.

Twenty-two years ago, a night club singer in Macau (Nancy Sit) had a temporal relationship with a Hong Kong university student and gave birth to a baby girl. She also adopted a mute baby boy whose mother is her good friend. Twenty-two years later, her daughter (Charmaine Sheh) and step-son (Julian Cheung) finally have chances to meet their biological parents, and their peaceful lives start to change...

　　二十年前，朱莎嬌﹝薛家燕﹞邂逅年青港大學生祝展輝﹝郭峰﹞，二人開展了一段短暫的戀
情。不久，展輝要赴美求學，懷有身孕的莎嬌雖然不捨，但想到輝的前途，只有忍痛同意分手。
自此，莎嬌便跟親生女兒祝君好﹝佘詩曼﹞和養子文初﹝張智霖﹞相依為命。

　　文初生母遭情郎拋棄，不堪打擊下給仍是嬰孩的文初灌餵腐蝕性液體，幸得莎嬌及時相救。

　　文初雖撿回一命，但聲帶嚴重受損，從此變成啞巴。文初一直視君好如親妹妹，直至司徒禮信﹝馬
浚偉﹞的出現，文初方知自己深愛君好。君好心地善良，對人人都關懷備至，因而糾纏於文初、
禮信和好友金勝﹝唐文龍﹞的四角情感中……

　　經名醫治療，文初的聲帶得以重開，但自知無法給予君好幸福，甘心退出並決意離開澳門找
尋生母。與此同時，莎嬌為女兒的前途著想，寧願孑然獨留澳門，也希望君好能跟生父展輝一起
生活。

　　君好最後會選擇誰人？她和文初又會否離莎嬌而去？
