I have been following most of Takeshi's movie, and this this is the first time i ever saw him in an action movie. His known to be dramatic actor. I feel he is too handsome for this kind of film but i must admit, he rocks!!! More action for him please... |

The guy is HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
| I loved this movie, it's one of the first japanese films that i'v had the pleasure of watching. I must say, it was hard to follow the story line because takeshi is UBER hot!!!!!!!! FLAMING HOT!!!!!!!! but the story was really good when I watched it the secound time. I really enjoyed it!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| I don't think they had copy any movies. Good story line and good cg. But if you don't really like Japanese actor or only care how much cg in the movie or only interest in Alien or UFO during the whole movie, but not the good story. Then I don't think you'll like this movie. Otherwise this is a excellent movie to watch. |

I watched a version of the film, and it's absolutely weird to think that they make these films. It's a weird combination of the Matrix (visuals) Fear factor (the enemies are chinese) and hollywood alien films (the story). Although the visuals are cool, the story is lame and repetitive, but at least, they have something to pull off Collest guy is not Anne suzuki, it's Goro Kishitani. He's super cool here |

The Returner is a flashy, action/adventure/sci-fi movie that has its moments. Its not as action packed as the trailers make it out to be, but when there is action, its done well. Mostly CG action and gunplay with some nice plot twists near the end. The movie brings nothing new to the genre, but has some nice elements from other movies like: aliens in ID4, bullet time ala Matrix and the One, CG fighting like Final Fantasy:TSW. 8 out of 10 stars. If you enjoyed the movie alot, I would recommend picking up this Official R2 Japanese 2 disc LE. The price is pretty high, but it is typical of Japanese products. However, the disc is fully loaded with DTS audio and extra features. This is also a rare R2 dvd that features English subtitles. The packaging is also superb, it ranks as one of the bests i've ever seen. It comes in a sturdy, embossed, red case that holds 2 sections like a book. The first is the 2 disc collection of the film and extras. The second section is a holder for the VFX booklet and postcards. Please keep in mind that this set is limited and would be wise to pick up soon if you are a hardcore fan. |

who said this movie copied Matrix? it copied way more than that! Men in Black, Back to the Future, ID4, even John Woo!!! anyway itz amusing. i don't think the cg was too horrible. itz just that they forced so much personal drama into a supposedly sci-fi film that the whole alien thing becomes kinda silly in the end. 1 question tho (SPOILER involved): if the future turns out so great in the end that Milly #2 gets to travel back and forth in time, why don't the ppl in the future simply send some backups for Milly #1? Do we really want to place the fate of the entire human race in the hands of 1 whinny girl who's going thru teen angst? just a thought... anyway, i give Returner a 5, b/c Takeshi looks kool (as always), and the movie really made me laugh. |

This movie was a failure. The special effects were not up to snuff... but that's okay. If the plot was half decent, then the movie would have been better. But no, everything about the movie was disappointing. Takeshi did look cool though, but that's about all its going for this movie. And that plot twist in the end... well .. its not that great either.. |

| this movie is laughably bad. The storyline is lame and shows absolutely no creativity. Creativity is the key to a good movie; without it the movie can only be decent at best. However, this movie isn't even decent. I don't care if they try to copy the matrix, but they didn't do a very good job anyways. |
