Aww, it's so not Kagrra-ish
|
I liked it to be honest, first listen and I liked it. But it's easier to change the CD than sakura maichiru ano oka de. Is it just me or is the recording just so ... cleeeeeeean. The sound didnt dramatically change when they released Miyako and Urei, but there was something different about the style of songwriting. However, it's still Ishii, and the crew play their roles seamlessly and perfectly. Drumlines are superb thanks to Izumi. One more song would of made it a great minialbum, but for Kagrra, a good single nonetheless at a decent import price. |

Ever since they jumped onto the major label, their sound has been polished, but their style has been toned down to almost generic. I got my first sampling of Rin and yes, it's what you expect from Kagrra, but it's not progress. Such a great band, perhaps I just expected more. Nevertheless check the song out, you can sample it at www.pscompany.co.jp/kagrra, in the discography section. Simple click on Rin's link and it will automatically play. This band destroyed the pirate in me, I have downloaded all their albums and songs, but I have already bought more than $200 worth of CDs and DVDs in the past month. This single is great, just not amazing. Ishii's still got it, and hes improving in terms of tone control and the such, and his voice got slightly deeper but it's still heavenly :), however so much rhythnm guitar and inaudible lead, drums control the song and give it heart, but the line is too generic to make the song powerful. This is why I gave it 6, want to hear a 10 song? Better yet a 10 album? Gozen is where its at. Thats my preference as a girly fanboy. FOr a more gothic sound, try Nue |
