As fun as the movie title promises, Robo Rock is the first live-action film from game and animation gurus GDH Group, and they pack it full of old-school entertainment in new-age garb. Eccentric gangsters, blazing shootouts, loud fashion, and louder rock tunes are the order of the day, but the film's crowning gory has to be the retro giant robot created by GDH's very own anime house GONZO! Directed by Suga Taikan (Speed Master), Robo Rock features a fresh cast of rising stars and character actors led by Shioya Shun (Like a Dragon).

Wannabe rocker and rebel without a cause Masaru (Shioya Shun) makes a living as an "odd-job man" - as in he performs odd tasks for sleazy people, from stealing underwear to scouting for porn stars. Most of the time, he just leeches off his tattoo artist girlfriend (Minami, Detroit Metal City). One day, Masaru gets his oddest job yet courtesy of frantic civil servant Nirasawa who claims that Masaru's voice is the only thing that can activate Land Zeppelin, a giant robot whose services will be needed to defend the planet from the oncoming alien invasion. Naturally, Masaru doesn't believe him. But when he and his buddy Ko (Honda Shoichi, Heart, Beating in the Dark) land into big trouble during a dangerous job, a giant robot just might be what they need the most...
