What if a romance transgresses the boundary between the cyber world and real one? Romance Beyond is a rare crossover which incorporates sci-fi elements into a popular love drama. This 1993 romantic comedy stars top TVB actor Frankie Lam and the cute and likable Athena Chu in the leading roles. Also in this dream-like drama are veterans Peter Lai and Hui Siu Hung, plus Emily Kwan, Money Lo, Vincent Lam, and Gabriel Wong. Leon Lai's sweet theme song goes perfectly with this urban fantasy.

Game designer Chung (Frankie Lam) is creating a game about female warrior Ding Dong (Athena Chu) fighting against the vicious Salomi (Emily Kwan). In a strike of lightning, the computer game characters jump from the screen to the real world. Mistaking the lovably clueless Ding Dong as an illegal immigrant, Chung lets her crash in his apartment, and gradually falls in love with her. Ding Dong, however, knowing the virtual nature of her identity, refuses to accept Chung as her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Chung's brother (Vincent Lam) has a crush on Ding Dong, and the daughter (Money Lo) of Chung's uncle also falls in love with Chung...

電腦戰士，譜都市愛情童話。

一次電腦故障，令電腦遊戲設計師齊過沖(林文龍)創造的故事人物：叮噹(朱茵)、莎樂美(關寶慧)及孫喬頭（黎彼得）從電腦中走出。沖誤會噹為偷渡者，但最終經不起她的懇求而暫時收留她。

沖與伍嘉文（盧敏儀）雖有指腹為婚之約，但文卻與沖弟齊過志(林偉)相戀。其後志與文鬧翻，二人更分別戀上噹與沖。沖與噹日久生情，但噹是電腦虛擬人物，因而未敢接受沖的感情。他們最後能否解開複雜的四角戀 ?

When CHAI KWO CHUNG (LAM MAN LUNG), who is a computer programmer, is trying to enrich the game he creates, something strange happens and the three characters in the game, TING TONG(CHU YAN), SA LOK MEI(KWAN PO WAI) and SUEN KIU TAU (LAI PETER), are thrown into the real world. CHUNG mistakes TONG for an illegal immigrant at first. With her passionate entreaties, he eventually agrees to put her up temporarily.

CHUNG’s younger brother, CHAI KWO CHI(LAM WAI), is going out with NG KA MAN(LO MUN YI), who is the promised wife of CHUNG before he was born. CHI and MAN fall out with each other later on and fall for TONG and CHUNG respectively. To complicate matters still further, TONG and CHI have found themselves in love with each other as they get closer. TONG, nevertheless, dares not start a relationship with him as she knows very well that she is only a virtual character. Would the four be able to solve the complicated eternal triangle?
