No.This is one of the very few K-pop albums that I consider to be fairly consistent in terms of the quality of tracks (which is why I bought it, right? Right!), ranging from ballad to pop rock to dance (they just about cover it all). The album does show case Davichi's musical diversity and raw vocal talent. It's not your stereotypical stale Korean ballad album, where each song sounds the same, and the only instruments you can here in the whole album are the drum, piano, and a violin. Theres a nice range of instruments used, one notably being the flamenco, something you don't hear very often at all in Korean ballads, which leaves a fresh taste in your mouth whilst you drool, as you flip through the little picture booklet provided (well some of you may drool, I know I did!).
However for the odd audiophile out there, due to very heavy compression on this album (which I find isn't very common on K-pop albums), theres a LOT of clipping during heavy passages or when a high note is produced in just about every track, which may deter you from the album. You would think that with a re-issue of the album, the sound engineers would fix the clipping by re-mastering the album, but it looks like they are incompetent at their job (they're either deaf, or they are using sub standard hardware). If it weren't for the terrible mastering I would definitely give this a higher rating (Honestly, this is probably the most poorly mastered album I've heard, and mind you I've heard some pretty bad ones). Hopefully in the future they will release a remastered version, I doubt that though. Fingers crossed!Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
