Manipulative but compelling tearjerker Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
"Sad Movie" delivers what its title implies. The film is comprised of intersecting stories, one about a fireman in love with a woman who signs the news for hearing-impaired TV viewers, a second story about a deaf woman who works as a Raggedy Ann character at a theme park and yearns to express her affection to a young artist who also works at the park, a third story about a young man whose shiftless ways have led his longtime girlfriend to wish to break up with him, and a fourth story about a career-oriented mother who realizes that her son is suffering from a lack of maternal attention.

Two of these stories have sad endings and two of them end tragically. In that distinction lies one of the film's problems. The emotional power of the two tragic endings makes the other two storylines seem relatively trivial. Yet those other two storylines -- the ones that are merely sad, but not tragic -- are more amusing and engaging and much less manipulative, thus creating an uneasy tension among the stories.

The real attraction of "Sad Movie", however, comes from the terrific performances of its fine young cast. For me the real standouts are hunky fireman Jung Woo-Sung who fears commitment due to the hazards of his profession, Cha Tae-Hyeon as a man who seeks to save his relationship by helping others end theirs, and the wide-eyed appeal of Shin Min-Ah as the deaf girl who is afraid to reveal her scars to the man she loves. Well-acted, nicely rounded characters in four heartfelt stories yield a film that is well worth watching.

If you're Jung Woo Sung fans. Go get this movies today. This certainly must be one of his best. After the ends of the movies, your heart still achings for him. And he's more handsome than ever.

i absolutely love love love this film..i know its a bit simple in ways but its soo beautiful. it really says something. spend as much time with your loved ones and tell them you love them while you can. this movie is very very good. it made me cry and cry and cry even after it was over. even thinking about some parts made me cry. its just so great and sad and good. the name really stands for the movie. it is what it's called. sad movie.also the cast was great. i loved how they potrayed their characters. the actors were all very good and convincing. if you get this dont say i didnt warn you..because the little boy an dhis mom really sock the tears to you and will leave you lingering for a long time. also the soundtrack is great. i just love it..it is a definite MUST HAVE!! =D

This movie is sad through some parts, however the movie lacked any kind of point whatsoever. It leaves you thinking "That's it". As someone said earlier borrow but not a buy item.

Sad movie..... Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Like the title entails, this is indeed a SAD MOVIE. I purchased this item last summer because of the actors. The stories are touching, especially the one with the mother and her son. I like how all four stories are interrelated somehow! The acting was okay, the music was so-so for me - nothing too spectacular. Let's put it this way: the story is rather simplistic yet really pulls the heart. The product itself is great! Glad this the VCD version had english subs!!!
