Acclaimed Hong Kong actress Teresa Mo stars in her first Mainland film, Sailfish, as a mother in a poor village in the 1950s China. Last time she played a mother, it was in Derek Yee's 2006 drama 2 Young, and her performance won her Best Supporting Actress in the Hong Kong Film Awards.

Director Jin Yimeng is a rising new talent in China. She studied filmmaking in the US, and her student film The 17th Man won a Student Emmy Award and was screened in the Cannes Film Festival. Sailfish, her first feature-length film, tells the inspirational story of love, friendship, and dreams shared by three young swimmers. Jin is currently making her next film, which has attracted famous actresses like Zhang Ziyi, Fan Bingbing, and Ruby Lin to sign up for parts.

GAOMIN'S father framed HAIYANG for assaulting GAOMIN and requested the sports school to disqualify HAIYANG. HAIYANG was then in depression, BAILING encouraged him and he stand up again, he had to get back to the swimming pool to achieve his goal, however, an accident happened...
