Sockeye salmon are an incredible natural bounty found in the rivers of the Pacific Northwest. Each year they return to breed, attracting a host of predators from grizzly bears to bald eagles.
In a dramatic sequence, we observe killer whales chasing the salmon out of the sea whilst seals and sea lions plunge into the waters to catch their share. Eagles and ospreys swoop down from above and black bears and grizzlies choose their locations strategically, awaiting the salmon as they leap the falls.
Salmon - the Silver tide takes us on a journey through the seasons and examines their lifestyle and the way they fit into the lives of their predators - including humans.
