November 29, 2005 Come out with something new? That is sooo Ayu!Bold & Delicious is a rather complex, extraordinary, catchy, infectious song with medium pace beat guaranteed to stuck inside ur' head spinning around and around after listening for even the first time. Like any other of her upbeat songs, it's opened by a jingle which instead of sounding simple like
'lalalala...' in Greatful Days, it oozes 'yayayayagagagagadadadawowowo' which creates a distinct excitement & ambience of the song. Thankfully, the english part that's only Booold and Deliccioouuss is pronounced clearly and thus, making the whole song sounds perfect. On the contrary, Pride is a minor ballad included to merely compliment the single. As for this song, Pride fails to compete with her other ballad songs such as Heaven & Carols due to its plain/flat melody and the decent notes in the chorus part. This asides, Bold & Delicious clips underlines Ayu always-come-out-with-something-new trademark by depicting Ayu singing on the back of a big truck driving around New York. It seems that Ayu wants to relate the idea of the clip with the song title which said Bold & Delicious since it's quite embarassing, scary yet feeling-good at the same time having lots car riders as well as pedestrians staring at her in a puzzled way while performing the song. To be honest, this totally works and I give two thumbs up for the PV director and her! However, I, after watching the entire clip, am somewhat bored with the mostly static manner in shooting her. Despite that, i'm still enjoying the clip as much as the song itself. Lastly, there're just six words that i'm gonna say to Ayu fans out there; BUY IT COZ IT'S GOOD!Did you find this review helpful? September 29, 2005 A bit too repetitive...I used to like her a lot as most of her songs are nice and her voice reflects such a deep emotion. This song, however is rather plain and repetitive esp. in the chorus part. The melody is actually not bad at all although i can't say it perfectly suits my taste. When i heard the song, i could feel the meaning not because i know Japanese but because of the way she sings it which is very emotional. Love the cover as the photo is taken in one of the most beautiful and historical cities in the world, Prague. The PV is fascinating as well illustrating her view of two people who love each other despite 'the tragic ending'. Overally, it's definitely worth to buy for Hikki hardcore fans; if you're not one of them, you better wait for the upcoming album. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -

September 21, 2005 One of the best ballad song released ever...Eventually, Avex Trax is able to produce such a nice and soothing ballad for Ayu after bombardizing fans with up-beat and rockish songs like STEP YOU, is this LOVE?, Fairyland and Alterna. It's such a relief for me to know that Ayu has not lost her magical touch on ballad recalling that she's incredibly famous for singing mind-blowing ballads like SEASONS, RAINBOW, LOVE ~Destiny~, Voyage, and so on. The more you listen to HEAVEN, the more you're craving for it . Its melody is so catchy that it'll stuck in your head once you hear it even for the first time! I would say that it has a slight influence of Japanese traditional sounds in the background music which is of course, adorning this song. To add on, HEAVEN is not the usual type of Ballad that you've been listening to. Why? Because the chorus is in the end of the song. Pretty unique, huh? Next, It seems that Ayu wants to convey to her fans that HEAVEN is not something that has to be luxurious or glamorous; Instead, she applies a simplistic concept for this single depicted in the cover and PV. Talking about the PV, some of the fans might get dissapointed by too-plain-and-too-simple-for-for-The-Queen-of-Jpop idea but if they can just watch the clip more thoroughly, they'll find that it has a very essential message as she's giving her deepest condolence for the victims of the recent London-bombing incident. The second song, 'Will' is more of a reminiscence of Japanese old songs. It's even more 'traditional' than HEAVEN which definitely adds the richness of the variety of Ayu songs that have previously been released. Btw, 'Will' was party composed by CREA which implies Ayu herself (CREA is one of her dog's name ;p) "Lovely", i must say! The rest of the songs are just remixes which i haven't heard at all, honestly. However, i guess the main motivation for purchasing this single is to listen to HEAVEN & Will, rite? Of course, having Alterna's and other song's remixes wouldn't hurt either XP. Last words, HEAVEN is certainly one of the single that's in my must-buy list. Grab it, now! ayumi hamasaki ARENA TOUR 2005 A - MY STORY (Japan Version) DVD Region 2
(22)Our Price: US$70.25Usually ships within 7 - 14 daysSeptember 1, 2005 This is what i call a concert.I've heard this concert a long time and saw some of its screen caps in ayu forums. I was so exceedingly excited knowing that this dvd has been released! WHY? because: (1) The song list is mind-blowing! Ayu has previously never sung songs like Happy Ending, Walking Proud, HONEY, STEP you and Humming 7/4 in a 'real' concert. (2) The wardrobe (oh my gosh! you can get the hint from its cover) is just undeniably gorgeous! From a really enormous gown which becomes her trademark, until the sexy jazz-singer dress, she bares them all in here! (3) The setting of the stage is aesthetic! So far, it's the most beautiful (not the best though) stage that Ayu has ever had in her concert. (4) Theatrical effects are more than great (oh and totally surprising for sure!!). Each song unfolds in its unique way. For this one, you've got to see the concert yourself.
Lastly, you won't regret a penny for buying this one not only because of stuffs that are mentioned above but also other surprises in this dvd that are waiting for you.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
