Han Chae Young (Wild Card, Bet On My Disco) portrays the charming female protagonist Seong Chun Hyang, an industrious, amiable, and poor high school girl who has to work part-time to pay for her daily needs. After being transferred from his old school, handsome Lee Mong Ryong (Jae Hee from Kim Ki Duk's acclaimed 3-iron, and winner of the Best New Actor Award at the 2004 Blue Dragon Presentation) becomes Chun Hyang's classmate. The two start out friends, and soon become lovers. However, Mong Ryong's old flame Hong Chae Rin (Park Si Eun of the KBS Drama School) finds out about their romance. Filled with jealousy, she leaves no stone unturned in her quest to force Chun Hyang and Mong Ryong apart.

本劇由李夢龍從漢城轉學到全羅北道南原的某高中開始。春香喜歡上了南原警察局所長兒子李夢龍﹐幫他補習功課。李夢龍在春香的幫助下順利考上重點大學﹐但是他遇到了他的初戀情人彩琳﹐心中起了漣漪。春香對李夢龍一片痴心。有一天春香認識了一家著名藝人經理公司的老板卞學道。卞學道以前對任何女人都很吃香﹐沒有不得手的。但是因為春香心里已經有人﹐所以無論卞學道如何努力﹐春香都不屑一顧。因此大大傷了卞學道的自尊心﹐他決心不顧一切要讓春香回心轉意。

攝制組指出﹐春香雖說生活在朝鮮時代﹐但她很勇敢﹐愛自己所愛的人,并珍惜保護這份感情。因此攝制組認為古代民間故事里的春香是個非常適合現代青春愛情偶像劇的角色﹐并將這個人物放到現代的背景中進行新的詮釋和塑造。

本劇大膽采用了fusion電視劇的新嘗試﹐在背景音樂中將美國黑人的搖滾樂和韓國傳統的唱劇相結合。

"Sassy Girl, Chun-hyang” is the 2005 interpretation of the “Legend of Chun-hyang.” The story begins when Lee Mong-ryong is transferred from Seoul to a high school in Namwon, North Jeolla Province. Chun-hyang does her best to help Mong-ryong, her first love and the son of the Namwon Police Station chief, to enter a prestigious university. However, after meeting with Mong-ryong’s first love, Chae-rin, Mong-ryong’s love toward Chun-hyang is shattered, although Chun-hyang’s love remains unwavering.

One day, Byeon Hak-do, CEO of a famous entertainment company, appears in her life. He exudes confidence that he can make any woman fall for him. But as Chun-hyang shows no interest in him, his self-esteem is damaged profoundly. Byeon Hak-do is determined to make her love him.

The production team of this drama says they wanted to present a whole new image of Chun-hyang in line with modern times as she is an attractive female character who showed courage in choosing her love in the Joseon period, when Confucianism was a dominant value.

This fusion-style drama makes various new attempts in terms of genre, such as mixing rap with Pansori (Korean opera) for background music.

Bought this in January 2009 and already watched it for many times.
If you like Korean dramas then you definitely have to watch Delightful Girl Chun-Hyang /Sassy Girl, Chun-Hyang!
The chemistry between Jae Hee and Chae Young is really good. Also love the OST!

Great, but with some minor setbacks Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
The drama itself is really great! The numerous reviews you will find here is a testament to that. However, one minor setback that this particular product has (the Malaysian version), which I bought, is with the English subtitles. There is about 1% typographical error and about 5-10% incorrect translation. It is quite disappointing, especially when the scenes start to be compelling and all of a sudden you wouldn't understand a line or two because they've got the grammar all wrong. On top of that, one would expect much with a price tag of almost USD44.

Everything else about this product is great - from packaging to picture and audio quality. That being said, if you can bear with the minor problems brought about by the occasional errors found in the English subs, you'll most likely enjoy this product in the overall.

This series is really good. I got this last week and I have already finished it!

Jae Hee is a brillant comedy actor from being an immature kid at the beginning to a more serious grown up at the end. I am looking forward to seening him in more series.

This is excellent - I thoroughly enjoyed this. You must watch it for the story and the way the characters develop. The father is the best, in my opinion! What a guy!!

I very much recommend this drama! There is NEVER a dull moment. it gets good right from the beginning. It doesn't drag problems, instead there are problems that grow with them as the drama rolls on. This is such a funny drama. Also the actors were great and had great chemistry. This drama is both romantic sweet and funny without totally ruining the drama. this drama got my heart to beat super fast with excitement and got my stomach to hurt from laughing so much. i really recommend you get this or you'll really be missing out!
