Directed by Hyun Nam Seob, Saving My Hubby takes the audience on a whirlwind adventure through Korea's underworld from the perspective of a housewife with a baby on her back. The versatile Bae Du Na (Take Care of My Cat, The Host) stars in this quirky and entertaining 2002 comedy that serves up laughter and life lessons in equal measure.

Geum Soon (Bae Du Na) used to be a volleyball player for the national team, but now she's a young wife and mother, having trouble adjusting to married life. She has to take on the challenge of her life when she receives a threatening call from a loan shark in the middle of the night, who asks for the immediate payment of a tremendous bill in exchange for her husband's (Kim Tae Woo) life! Determined to save her hubby, this plucky housewife ties her baby to her back and heads out on a rescue mission that wreaks havoc in the Korean underworld!

Laughs galore in a great film! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
"Saving My Hubby" had me laughing out loud from start to finish. The movie starts with a great premise and pursues it with gusto.

Bae Du Na plays a former volleyball star who, after suffering a serious shoulder injury, marries one of her fans, has a baby, and gives up volleyball. The movie begins has her hubby wakes for his first day on a new job. Complicating things is the fact that Miss Bae's in-laws will be coming for a visit at 5 a.m. the next day.

After his first day of work, Miss Bae's husband, memorably played by Kim Tae Woo, must join his colleagues for a night of drinking on the town. After they force him to drink more than he can handle, he becomes kidnapped and drugged at a sleazy bar that then calls Miss Bae demanding immediate payment of a ridiculously large bar tab in exchange for the release of her husband.

Miss Bae responds by strapping her baby to her back and venturing into Seoul's criminal underworld to rescue her unfortunate hubby. Hilarity ensues.

To make a film like this work, the performers must throw themselves fearlessly into their roles (Miss Bae and her fellow actors certainly do that!) and the director must keep the story hurtling along at breakneck speed (director Hyun Nam Seob certainly does that!).

It all works marvelously in this laugh riot of a movie. I heartily recommend "Saving My Hubby" for everyone.

I have been eagerly awaiting to see this film for some time has the Enterone DVD has been hard to get lately (come on Enterone get this film back in print, its too good to leave on the self). Finally got a copy and what a film it is, too! Du Na portrays yet another fantastic role in this light and breezy comedy of a girl having to find her kidnapped drunken husband from petty and bumbling comedic gangsters (like the guy how plays her hubby, too, who was also in "JSA" and the recent "Don't Look Back"). SMH is a simple story and excellently funny all round (with a fanatical gang boss who stubbornly prefers to wear nothing but white and will drink milk to prove it!), but I also like the way the film portrays a difficult situation and how that person can overcome them by the graceful human attributes of persistence and perseverance. Gutse-eora Geumsoona!! Great music to the film also with classical, new wave/old wave ditties - especially Du Na's run theme! Hey, this film also has some nice actor/actress cameos, too, with quite a number of regular Korean faces popping up here and there (you will have to petition to Enterone to re-release the DVD to find out who!). Love this film, highly recommend it and Du Na Bae, well, she's just....GR-E-A-A-A-T!

I agree with everyone, this BND is just so hilarious. Even though the plot is very simple... but I cracked up every minute throughout the movie. I loved the part @ the end when the husband was practicing his boozing skills with soap and detergent inside the washroom...

She's my favorite Korean actress and I've seen all the movies the guy in the first review listed. She makes this movie what it is....fun to watch!

Not the funniest movie ever, but still a great movie. A must watch if you're a fan of hers.

Bae Du Na is a cool actress and she is what probably makes this film good at all, it wouldn't be as entertaining seeing anyone else pull off the things she does in this movie. You should also see her in Take Care of My Cat, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, and Barking Dogs Never Bite. Simple film but excellent all the same.
