Frequent co-stars Simon Yam and Veronica Yip team up for the gripping psychological drama Scarred Memory. Veronica Yip is Ivy Yip, a young doctor who became sexually frigid after a brutal rape left her emotionally damaged. She takes solace in the support given by her boyfriend and best friend, but her trust is shattered when she finds them engaged in an affair. Distracted, she neglects a bloodied patient named Lee Yuen Yung (Simon Yam), and is eventually punished for violating her Hippocratic oath. Ivy retreats to Macau to pick up the pieces, but along comes Lee, whose head trauma has rendered him childlike and near-amnesiac. Ivy takes his arrival as a chance to earn redemption for her own sins, and the two form a poignant doctor-patient bond that soon grows into more. But the past cannot hide, and as fragments of Lee's memory return, so does a terrifying secret that may destroy the bond between them. Directed by Raymond Leung, Scarred Memory is an underrated Hong Kong film that takes its viewers on an uncommonly dark, compelling journey.

A gangster patient receives brain damage due to the malpractice of female doctor who is recently a rape victim and still emotionally disturbed. She is determined to nurse the gangster back to health again and gradually falls in love with the tame and innocent man who supposedly is a dangerous monster before he is ill. Memory will one day come back to both of them and the fact that he is the one who rapes her in his irresponsible past will finally prove that love cannot overcome the burden of hurt and guilt.
