The hot drama attracted audiences from the get-go with its body swap premise and superstar pairing of Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won, but what elevated it to a national sensation was the cast's sizzling comedic and romantic chemistry. Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won bicker away in the series as an eccentric, elitist CEO and a spunky stuntwoman who hate each other almost as much as they're undeniably attracted to each other. Hyun Bin, in particular, rose to a new level of popularity for his versatile performance as the arrogant man-child hero who is maddening, hilarious, and lovable all at once when faced with the unfamiliar challenge of courting a girl from the other side of the tracks. Department store CEO Joo Won (Hyun Bin) behaves as is fitting for a business leader and a member of the upper class. Meticulous about his work, looks, and image, he demands the best from those around him in the most patronizing of ways, and he doesn't mix with the riff-raff. All that changes the moment he meets stuntwoman Ra Im (Ha Ji Won) and her swift kick. Being the rich, important person he is, Joo Won couldn't possibly be interested in a poor stuntwoman... but he just can't get her out of his mind, so he keeps barging into her life in hopes she'll return his attention. Every encounter turns into an emotionally charged argument thanks to Joo Won's invasive actions and insensitive way with words. Their complicated relationship takes an even stranger turn when they wake up one morning in each other's bodies!

Other than leads Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won, Secret Garden's supporting cast also received a lot of love from audiences. Yoon Sang Hyun (My Fair Lady) co-stars as Joo Won's pop idol cousin Oska, who's always ready to set Joo Won straight with some honest tough love, but he's at a loss for words when it comes to his own conflicted relationship with former flame Yoon Seul (Kim Sa Rang, A Love to Kill). The drama's cast also includes Philip Lee (The Legend), Lee Joon Suk (Prosecutor Princess), Yoo In Na (High Kick Through the Roof), and Kim Sung Oh (Midas).
