New Style. Same Taiji.

I realize this has been out for a while but I still think it deserves a review ;D I preordered this single expecting a sound like his 7th album. But, once I heard this CD I was shocked and confused. I thought "How is it possible for Taiji to sound this different" Totally not a bad thing though, this new sound or "Nature Pound" as he calls it. Is great! absolutely fantastic! This single is well balanced musically and emotionally. The lyrics range from ideology of society corrupting and controlling everyone. To themes that have perplexed Taiji since his childhood (ie. the MOAI statues on Easter Island) Musically this single is great, you have one standard nice electronic infused rock song (MOAI) then you have the happy, makes you want to dance until you pass out song (Human Dream) and then the heavy, melt your face, break your eardrums song (TikTak) and then finally just as a bonus a remix of the title tracks which is a bit more electronic and technical. Taiji is a master at what he does, this proves it. He can adapt to any genre, any sound and any style. And make it sound amazing, and give it his own personal touch. I recommend this for old and new Taiji fans. It's a great release and I can't wait for his second single "WORMHOLE" which is out sometime in March I believe. |

Excellent comeback!

I absolutely love this album by Seo Tai Ji. Regardless of the fact there are only 4 songs, anything is better than nothing when it comes to Seo Tai Ji who doesn't stay in public thatoften. T'ik T'ak is officially one of my favorite rock videos and with his recent Symphony 2008 concert, Seo Tai Ji has become one of my top korean rock artists. I love his old works (like Hefty End, Take One, Take Two, etc...), and this album has his same classic sound but is so modern and techo-refined. I love it! Please check out his recent concert, it is amazing! |

Love it
| I have to admit, I barely understand Korean, but I do understand music as well as love Seo Tai Ji, so here goes. I was actually expecting what has been Seo Tai Ji's "Sound", if you will, which is metal mixed in with softer sounds. I for one am not a great metal fan, but I made an exception for STJ. I really love this soft rock melodical single album. It only has four songs on it and I am left wanting to hear more STJ. We've been waiting four years for the last STJ record, and this does not disappoint. Maybe I'm speaking too soon, perhaps the next single or album will have more metal tones. But honestly, if STJ is supposedly heading towards more classical music, I support that direction wholeheartedly. No one except the Beatles perhaps in their day is more musically innovative. I can't wait to hear what Seo Tai Ji comes up with next. |
