The girlfriends that she usually hangs out with are all happily single flying around different circles of men. Kwan (Athena Chu) is a writer good at making sarcastic and acrid remarks. Ni (Yo Yo Mung) is a risk taker while Mark (Pinky Cheung) loves fighting for justice. These four beautiful young women, together with a sissy bar manager, form themselves a "bitch club". All of them seem to have it all: they have careers, they have great bodies and they have money to spend in whatever ways they want. Yet, there seems to be one missing ingredient in their perfect lives. Right! Boys! Still, they have their choices ranging from the memorable first love, a pretty college boy, a professional from mainland China to an unruly gangster leader. Take it or leave it!

Based on the HBO drama "Sex and the City", Wong Jing, one of the most productive directors in Hong Kong, has written, directed and produced his local version of the American TV hit. "Sex and the Beauties" tells the stories of six attractive single women. Similar to the U.S. chart-topping TV series, this made-in-Hong-Kong production depicts how the modern women living in this 21st century deal with their careers, families, friends and love lives at the same time. The storyline does not come as such a surprise. What serve to be the eye openers are the lines and the links among different stories. Of course, we never grow tired of gazing at beautiful people.
